CHAPTER 93
Casabella’s POV
We were all waiting for the doctor outside Alex's ward after a nurse told us the patient had regained consciousness.
I was seated beside Rosy who was still shedding tears and didn't want to talk to anyone or have something to eat while Mark was restlessly moving to and fro.
After a couple of minutes, the doctor walked out of the room with a smiling face.
“How’s his doctor?” Mark asked.
“He’s out of danger now and I must say, he’s indeed a strong man. Also, who’s baby? He has been saying those words?”
“I am the one. I’m his baby.” Rosy replied in a rush.
“That’s nice. He wants to meet you.”
“Thank you so much, doctor.” She smiled and walked inside the ward while Mark and I stayed behind with the doctor.
“You do need to get some rest as well, Mrs Clinton. You’re not as strong as you think, the injury is still deep.” The doctor suggested.
“I’m feeling much better.” I insisted but Mark cut in quietly.
“Alright doctor. I will ensure she takes enough rest.” He said and picked me up.
We arrived in my ward as he placed me gently on the bed before caressing my face slowly.
“You need to take some rest, baby.”
“But I am feeling much better. I’m just tired of resting and also I feel bored and lonely.”
“Then I will stay with you for a little while before checking up on Alex. I have informed your parents and they’re on their way.”
“Thank goodness, they’re both safe. What about Norman?”
“He’s fine as well and will be coming with them.”
“Alright.” I yearned, feeling a little bit sleepy.
“I can see you’re feeling sleepy.”
“Yeah, a bit though but I am really fine. Can I get something to eat once I wake up?”
“Sure, anything you want.”
“I want something spicy and sweet.”
“No problem. I will get them ready before you wake up. Sweet dreams.” He agreed and pecked me on my forehead before I slowly gave in to sleep.
Mark’s POV
I walked outside the ward after she slept off and decided to check up on Leo’s brother before checking up on Alex.
“Good evening King.” He greeted me, trying to get up.
“You don’t have to get up. How are you feeling?”
“I’m feeling better King.”
“That’s good to hear. Have you seen your brother?”
“Yes, he just left a while ago to get me something to eat.”
“Alright. I want to thank you for risking your life for my sister and fiancee.”
“It's nothing, King. I was just doing my job.”
“You deserve something great. I will give you one of my mansions and one million dollars as an appreciation.”
“You really don’t have to do that, King.”
“I insist. Get well soon.”
“Thank you so much, King.” He uttered with almost gratitude.
“You’re welcome. Get some rest.” I smiled and walked out of the ward but met Leo and Jonas on the way holding a bag in their head.
“Good evening Boss.” They uttered in unison.
“Good evening, Leo and Jonas.”
“How’s Miss Casabella and Sir Alex doing?” Leo asked.
“Casabella is doing fine while Alex just regained consciousness.”
“That’s good news.” He responded.
“Yeah, I want to go and check up on him.”
“Okay sir. Miss Casabella's parents are on their way.” Jonas stated.
“Yeah, I am aware. Look after your brother, Leo. He’s really a strong man.”
“Yes sir. Thank you, Boss.” He replied.
“You’re welcome.” I smiled and strolled to Alex's room.
I walked inside the ward and found Rosy with him engaged in a kiss, devouring each other hungrily.
Look who just regained consciousness and isn’t hungry for food rather for a kiss.
“Erhm… I think I am interrupting something and will have to come back later.”
“It's fine buddy.” He uttered as they both pulled away from each other while I trooped towards him.
“It’s so good to have you back, man. How do you feel?”
“I feel like shit man but I will be fine.” He laughed.
“Thanks for taking a bullet for me.”
“Don’t mention buddy. What are friends for after all? How’s Casabella doing and Leo’s brother?”
“They’re fine, man.”
“Tell me how you killed the bastard who shot me?”
“The old ways, you know.” I smirked.
“The bastard has it coming his way. I’m so glad everything is finally over.” He mentioned.
“Yeah buddy. It’s finally over.” I affirmed in a long sigh.
“Brother, I am so for hiding the truth of Betty’s threat to me.”
“What threat?” I asked curiously.
“Well, you see, when you first brought Betty to the house. I told dad she wasn’t fit for you and dad knew it as well through her attitude which was why he rejected your union with her.”
“Why didn’t you tell me about it?”
“Dad said I should keep it a secret from you. However, I thought Betty would move on with dad’s final words but didn’t and blamed him for it.”
“What gives the bitch the right to send people to kill your father and rape you? I’m so glad she’s dead and ten feet below the ground.” Alex fumed.
“Let's forget about everything.” I suggested and hugged her to myself.
I’m glad everything is over and she won’t have to experience any of those horrible things again.
Casabella’s POV
I woke up and found Mark sitting right next to me caressing my face.
“For how long have you been here?” I asked, trying to rest my back on the pillow with his help.
“Few minutes with what you asked me to get.” He answered and picked up a basket from the floor.
“What did you get me?” I pouted my lips.
“Meat balls, pizza and ice cream.”
“Absolutely what I wanted. You do know my taste, darling.” I smiled and took the basket from him, taking out the meat balls in a flask, the ice cream in a big bowl and the box containing the pizza.
“Eat all you want, my love.”

After eating to my satisfaction, Mark helped me to clean up before my parents stepped in.
“My baby!” Mum called out and rushed to me.
“Mum, I miss you so much.” I hugged her.
“I miss you too, baby. How are you feeling?”
“I’m much better. Dad!” I called out and hugged him.
“How are you doing, princess?”
“Good dad.” I laughed as we pulled away.
ONE WEEK LATER
Mark’s POV
Casabella and Alex were discharged two days ago including Leo’s brother who I gave one of my mansions and the money as promised to start his life all over again while Leo and Jonas were free from their duties as well.
I let them go their ways and gave them each a mansion and ten million dollars to start a family for themselves.
I have decided to step down from being the overall mafia king since I am done with my common enemies and can live in peace as a simple business tycoon.
I walked inside the room and found the love of my life enjoying a bowl of vanilla ice cream.
“Hey heartthrob, did you get me the chicken wings?”
“Yes, my love. Here you go.” I smiled and dropped the plate containing the chicken wing on the nightstand.
"Thank you darling." She uttered, scooping a mouthful of the ice cream.
"Take it easy baby. Your wounds haven't healed completely."
"Alright. Do you mind?"
"No, I am good. I'm craving for something else."
"And what's that?" She asked, taking a piece of the chicken wings.
"I'm craving for something more and you know that."
"I don't know what you really want."
"Come on baby. You know of course. It's been a week since we did it, how could you not know what I mean?"
"Well, I don't know what you're talking about. I'm just enjoying my chicken wings."
I can't believe she doesn't understand what I am trying to say. It's been a week since we haven't touched each other and I feel I could lose my mind.
"I guess I have to do it my way like always." I sighed and took the ice cream bowl from her and made her drop the chicken wings back onto the plate before wiping her hands off with a handkerchief.
"What's that for, darling?" She asked, almost tearing up.
"I want your attention on me. I was telling you about my problem but you were paying less attention to me."
"I'm sorry but I just didn't get what you were trying to tell me."
"It's fine. Like I was saying, we haven't gotten into each other after you left the hospital and I feel like losing my head."
"I know but you were the one who keeps saying I haven't recovered fully even when I insisted I'm much better."
"Well, I did say that and I'm really regretting that but please baby, I want us to do it now. I can't seem to control myself for long."
"Okay but only when I am done having my ice cream and chicken wings. Is that okay with you?" She grinned.
"Alright my love."
