Chapter 45: Room 143
Cassandra walked nervously to her friend's place, where her husband was also present. She couldn't stop overthinking as she could hear her heartbeat pounding. She couldn't stand seeing her husband with another woman. Her hands trembling from nervousness as she muttered to herself, "Please, I hope it was just a misunderstanding."Then, she takes a deep breath.
She can even feel the chill in her hands as she pulls out her phone to call her best friend. "Ava, I'm already here; where is your room here?" She asked her friend on the other line right away.
She replied, "I'm in room 123."
"All right, wait for me," she said before hanging up the phone and taking a deep breath.
~
"Finally, you're here," Ava said as she pushed open the door.
"I'm sorry; I don't want to hide what I saw because you're my friend, Sandra; please don't be mad at me," Ava added.
"I'm not mad at you; in fact, I'm grateful to have a friend like you," Cassandra said as she hugged her friend.
"Thank you; I hope you'll be brave," Ava replied as she tapped her back.
"What room are they in?" She nervously asked her friend. Ava then gave her a serious look before saying, "Room 124."
"Wait, are you sure it was Edward you saw earlier?" she inquired of her friend. "Yes, Sandra, I swear I saw him with another woman with my own two eyes," Ava stated confidently. "Oh, what? Let's go? Let's see if I'm right or not," Ava added, and Cassandra swallowed hard at what her friend said. It's blatantly obvious that she wasn't prepared for what she was about to witness. "Cassandra, shall we go?"
"Okay," she said unconsciously as Ava led her away. Cassandra was anxious about what she was about to perceive as if she couldn't think clearly. Her only thought was that she hoped it was just a dream or misunderstanding, even though she didn't want to ruin their honeymoon.
Cassandra inhaled deeply before knocking on the door. She knocked three times, but no one answered, she then stared at her friend. "It seems that no one checked in here," Cassandra said, hoping that she was right.
"I'm sure Sandra and they are in that room," Ava said as she loudly knocked on the door again.
"F*ck!! Stop! You're interrupting us!" a woman yelled at them as she opened the door.
When Cassandra noticed the familiar woman in front of her, she exclaimed, she ?"
"S-Sofie??" Cassandra exclaimed in surprise when she recognize the woman in front of her.
"Oh, Cassandra. I didn't expect this moment, but I will thank you for visiting us. Ohh, sorry, did I say us? I forgot to tell you. I'm with your husband, and can you please leave now? He's so tired because of our ---" Sofie didn't finish her sentence when Cassandra pushed her as she walked inside the room, and that was the time she felt that unbearable pain inside her heart when she saw her husband sleeping on the bed, naked. She burst into tears at what she saw.
"I thought it was just a misunderstanding, so all this time it was all true," she sobbed as Edward suddenly woke up.
"Cassandra??" He was shocked when he saw her, as he realized that he was naked.
"F *CK, Sweetie. It's not what you think. " Edward tried to explain as he walked closer to her, but Cassandra just pushed him away. "F*ck you! I trusted you! But what did you do? You just keep hurting me! I hate you! " She yelled at him as she slapped his face. "Cassandra, please calm down, let me explain," Edward begged. "I don't want to hear any explanation from you anymore! You, too, b*tch! You're such a whore! You know that we're already married, but you're still trying to stick around with my husband like a leech! " Cassandra said angrily to Sofie. Cassandra was about to push Sofie when Edward suddenly stopped her.
"And now you want to protect her," she shattered, her tears streaming down her cheeks. She couldn't believe Edward had stopped her like he was trying to protect his mistress.
"Please, Cassandra, stop. S-pregnant," she's Edward said, causing her to cry even more.
"I've been duped for a long time. Why? Why did you do this to me!? Why!" she yelled at him as tears streamed down her cheeks.
"I can't believe you're a cheater; we both know she didn't deserve all this pain. You are such an a—-" Cassandra stood up and interrupted Ava's sentence. Cassandra wiped her tears and said, "Let's go, Ava. I don't want to be here." "Cassandra, let's talk about this," Edward pleaded again.
"No need. I've seen and heard enough from you. Why did we have to get married first before I discovered all of this sh*t? I'm such a fool to believe all of your lies, and finally, I realize that you don't deserve to be the father of my children. Let's divorce after this," Cassandra said before she walked away, forcing herself to be brave.
Edward called her again, but she forced herself to ignore him. She refuses to listen to him. She no longer believes him. The trust that she gave to him has already broken into pieces. "F*ck them! Why is this happening to me? Do I deserve all of this?" she sobbed to herself.
"Please, Sandra, don't cry. Don't waste your tears on that jerk. I know God has a better plan for you and your children. You need to be strong and take care of yourself. Forget about this for a while; it's not good for your pregnancy. " Ava worriedly said as she hugged her, causing Cassandra to cry even more, thinking how she ended up like this.
~
"Are you sure you can go home without me, Sandra?" Ava worriedly asked.
"Don't worry, Ava, I'm not a kid anymore, I'm just pregnant. Just enjoy your vacation here," Cassandra laughed, but the pain in her eyes was still visible. Ava realizes she was only acting. All of those fake smiles and laughs.
"I know, but I'm referring to your heart, my friend," Ava responded.
"Of course, it still hurts Ava; I can't forgive him for what he did, but you're right; I need to be strong, especially now that I'm pregnant; it's just a shame I can't give them the happy, complete family that I always dream of," she said with a sadness in her voice.
"I'm not sure what to do next after all of this. For now, I was just hoping to overcome this pain."
