Chapter seventy six

"She's beautiful.'' Laura smiled.

"I know and I love her name even more, Ariana.'' Drew chuckled.

It's been three weeks since the battle with Jed and three weeks since little Ariana was born. Ever since that day, Drew was thankful that he had successfully been able to contain Alpha Jed even though he couldn't defeat him. He had successfully switched off the timer at the last minute, saving his entire race which was at the brink of extinction.

"Are Jack and Killian recovering well?" Laura asked.

Laura had gotten back from where she had to hide but right at that moment, Drew's next mission was to inform her that she had to go back to hiding because the battle was far from over. Jed would never stop until he destroyed everyone of them and he would deal with Laura last. That was something he couldn't afford happening.

She placed their infant child on the crib, petting her as they watched her fall asleep. They made their way out of the nursery towards the living room where they could talk without disturbing their daughter.

"Yes, they are. They're still in Russia where they'll need to undergo another surgery but I'm hoping for their swift recovery.'' Drew said.

After the battle with Jed, his friends had nearly died from the wounds they sustained during the battle. Killian's was worse because one of his veins were punctured even his wolf couldn't help him because the severity of the injury was just too much.

"Okay. Don't think about it so much love, they'll be fine.'' Laura smiled.

She gripped his hands, giving it a gentle squeeze as she silently reassured him that everything would be fine. They had been through a lot and it was just a testament of their love and dedication towards each other.

"Any news on my real parents?" Laura asked.

"As of now, no. We're still searching but don't you worry Laura, we will get to the root of it.''Drew assured her.

"Thank you and thank you for being strong even when the situation didn't warrant it.'' Laura smiled.

She kissed him lightly, a gentle kiss that left her swooning as her mate gripped her waist possessively.

"I would never leave you Laura, no matter what happens. I'm stuck with you just like you are with me and I would never have it any other way.'' Drew said.

"To be honest, I'm scared. I don't want Alpha Jed to come back here and hurt any of us, he is evil and that same evil runs through his veins.'' Laura said.

"You have nothing to fear darling, this whole building is surrounded by my best security team. Even an ant couldn't even get in here.'' Drew said.

"Now, I feel better. You didn't tell me what happened to the army chief.'' Laura said.

"As soon as the battle ended and Jed disappeared, I made a report to the governor who took it to the President and when the evidences of his crimes were published, he was found guilty. He got dismissed and now, he's awaiting trial.'' Drew said.

Within the space of three weeks, a lot of things had happened and he was greatful that he and his mate were alive at the end. Throughout his battle with Jed, Drew had come to learn that patience and determination would take you anywhere.

He vividly remembered the words of Alpha Nikolas and how he constantly admonished him to always do things with caution. Drew was glad that he hearkened to that advice.

"Stop thinking Drew, it's been over three weeks since the attack. I'm glad that we're all alive and healthy, that's all I could ever wish for.'' she smiled.

"I can't stop thinking about what would happen when Jed returns. What if you died and I never got to see Ariana again.'' Drew sighed.

Laura gripped his hands, placing a gentle kiss on his palm. She could understand his worry but now, all they needed to do was be greatful to the moon goddess for sparing their lives even when it seemed like they wouldn't survive.

"We're alive, Ariana is kicking too. Baby, I think that's all we should be thankful for.''Laura said.

"I clearly remember the moon goddess's warnings when all these began. She said I would face a lot of challenges. At a point, I thought it would just be the normal ones associated with being the Alpha but this was far worse than what I expected.'' Drew said.

"At a point, do you know I almost came out of hiding. I couldn't sit back as different thoughts about the battle raged through my mind.''Laura said.

She smiled, resting her head on his shoulder. As they say in comfortable silence, Drew's phone beeped, indicating he had a call. Swiping the screen, he discovered that the number was a strange one, one he didn't have stored on his phone.

"Yes.'' Drew snapped.

"Apologies sir but I called to inform you that we have sighted Alpha Jed in Romania, we are still gathering enough information about this but i can assure you that we'll get him soon".

"Good, very good. Keep him under close observation until I know what to do.'' Drew said.

"Will do Sir".

Drew smiled, placing his phone on a nearby table. Laura could see the joy on his face and she wondered what could be the news he had just heard.

"He's been found.'' Drew said.

Laura got up quickly, sitting on the couch to face him. She needed to know if he was joking or serious but from the look on his face, he was serious.

"Oh my gosh! This is good news.'' she said.

Tears of joy streamed down her eyes as her heart grew with love for the man who made it his life duty to protect and love her for the rest of their lives.

"It is but still, we have to watch him closely. I have a feeling that he is gathering a lot of people to his side and this time around, it would even be worse than how he was before.'' Drew said.

Quick as lightening, Laura straddled his waist as she planted her lips on his, pouring all her warmth and affection into that kiss.

"I think I'm ready to have another child.'' Laura said.

Drew's hands crept inside her clothes, stroking her flushed skin. He loved the way she reacted towards his touch, always ready for him whenever he was.

"I love that idea too but babe, I think we should put that for a later date at least until all these are over.'' Drew smiled.

"Okay, but this time around, I want twin boys.'' Laura laughed.

"Then I guess we have a lot of work to do.'' Drew chuckled.

He placed her gently on the couch, giving her a warm kiss all the way down to her toes. Her body was soft as against his rock hard ones and he knew that he would spend the rest of his life worshipping her.

"We do but you'll be doing most of the work.'' Laura chuckled.

"Why?'' Drew smiled.

He nibbled lightly on her ears, loving the way her body reacted to his touch. She was always so sensitive to him and Drew knew that she was his and his alone.

"Because you're the father.'' Laura laughed.

"And aren't you the mother?" Drew grinned.

"I am and I'm your mate".

Drew chuckled, giving her a gentle kiss. Laura sighed as she wrapped her hands around his neck. This was her home, her safe place and shelter. With him, she could be anything and do anything she liked without fear of him rebuking her.

This was her home and she vowed to spend the rest of her life loving her family and protecting them even though her step father threatened their peace. Now that she had Drew with her, Laura knew that it would be much more easier dealing with him because now, they had a common enemy.

They were a united front against him and now that at least they knew where he was hiding, it would be really easy for them to defeat him. This time around, Alpha Jed wouldn't escape. It would only take a while but nothing would stop them from defeating him, that was something Laura knew.

''You're thinking.'' Drew smiled.

''Yes, i am just thinking about what i would do to Alpha Jed as soon as i get my hands on him. He would wish he never crossed us.'' Laura seethed.

''Leave him to me. It would only take time but escaping is the very last thing i will allow him do.'' Drew vowed.

In his eyes, Laura saw all the assurance she needed and she was quite confident that he would never allow Jed escape. The damage he had done to them was just too much and she couldn't wait to watch how he would suffer for everything he had done. It was a promise and if there was one thing Drew was good at, it was keeping his promises.
