Chapter 71

She didn't want to see more. She angrily and hurriedly walked away from the scene without even bothering to close the door. She was astounded, hurt and furious but she wouldn’t cry.

She was astounded because how dared he do this to her? She was hurt because she believed him when he kept saying that she was the only woman for him. She is furious at him because it seemed that he had been playing with her until now. She was more furious at herself for loving him and giving him all her trust.

YOU ARE NOT WORTH IT YOU MANWHORE! I will get over you so fast that your pride will be shattered to pieces. I was right when I said before that your semen is bigger than your brain! Never mess with Heather Williams you worthless pervert! She angrily thought.

She didn't even notice the curious glances she got from Blake's staff as she headed for the door. She had a determined look on her face which made her appeared even more attractive.

"Heather?!!" It was Eve.

She wasn’t aware that Blake’s cousin was coming from the direction she was heading to. She just wanted to go far from this place and from that manwhore .She didn’t have any plans of halting but Eve took hold of her arm.

"What's wrong? Have you been at the bar? Where are you going?" Eve asked.

She felt chill went up her spine when she saw Heather’s eyes. They looked blank. She was staring at her but she seemed no to be seeing her at all.

"Yes I went to the bar and I saw your cousin making out with Kristel. They both deserve each other. They aree both pigs. You can inform him that I am breaking up with him for real. Please tell him to give my passport to Stacey and tell my sister that I will be okay. I just need some fresh air after all these shit. Thanks." she said without any emotions before walking again.

Speechless, Eve just followed her with her eyes. Heather hailed a passing taxi. Before getting in , she turned one more time to Eve.

"One more thing, please tell your perv cousin that he is not the only fish in the sea.” she said with a smile which doesn't reach her eyes.

Eve quickly ran towards the bar. Her forehead formed a line when she saw Kristel just got out of their small office, crying. She entered and saw Blake dialing his phone. He had a serious expression and his jaw was clenched.

"What was that all about?" She asked him.

"What?" he asked with furrowed brows while he has had his phone in his right ear.

She sighed heavily. "If you are calling Heather then don’t expect her to pick it up.”

Blake scowled. "What do you mean?"

"She told me that she saw you making out with Kristel! What is happening again Blake? Heather said you and Kristel deserve each other and she doesn’t want to see you again! And why do you have her passport? She said that you must give it to Stacey! She said she is breaking up with you and you are not the only fish in the sea! She looked and sounded serious!?! You better explain everything right now!" Eve asked angrily.

When Blake was able to completely digest what Eve said he cursed loudly. His face turned red from anger.

"She can never leave me! And she can't be with another man! She belongs to me! Fucking son of a bitch!!" he said furiously.

Blake was calling and of course she ignored his calls. When the ringing stopped, a text message came through. It was from Jay. He was reminding her of their photo shoot tomorrow. She put her phone on her lap after reading the message. She didn’t know where to go. Blake easily found her last time. She told the taxi driver to drop her at the nearest mall. She had to buy some stuff, clothes and undies.

She won’t go back to her unit just to get her things. She would find a place where she could stay for a few days. She was going out of the mall’s entrance when she bumped into someone.

“Heather? Are you okay?”

She didn’t know why but she just cried.

"We can stay in my friend's resort. He has a house there and it has a private pool. It’s a bit far from the rental cottages and public pools so it is quiet there. You can do all the thinking you want." Jay said as he threw her a glance.

She was looking outside the window. She didn't care where they would go. She was confident that Jay wouldn’t do anything bad to her.

"Take a nap. We will be at the place in two hours.” he said.

She just said a quiet thank you before closing her eyes. She didn’t want to have a chat. She felt mentally, emotionally and even physically tired When she closed her eyes, she saw a picture of her with Blake in her mind. That was when they went to the park a few days ago…

Sincehe couldn’t yet run because of his injuries, he waited for her at the car while he was reclined on the seat. But of course he only allowed her to jog where he could see her from his pick-up. She immediately opened her eyes. She didn’t want to imagine is face. She sat up straight and just looked outside the window again.

The house of Jay’s house at the resort was nice. According to him, his friend came here rarely. There were three bedrooms. Jay said that she could occupy the master bedroom so she didn’t have to go out since it had its own bathroom. He asked her to eat dinner before she went to bed. He said that he would prepare something but she told him she would rather sleep already. Her boss didn’t say anything after putting her stuff on the bed. He only said goodnight before going out.

She was determined to forget her ex's memories. She shouldn’t waste her time and energy on him. Maybe due to tiredness, after a quick shower, she was able to sleep.

Jay was on the sofa in the living room. He was drinking some booze. He had a smile on his face. He felt lucky that he saw Heather at the mall. Whatever happened to her and that possessive boyfriend of her, he was glad. She looked so distressed when he saw her. He offered to take her home but she said she didn’t want to go home. He grabbed the chance. He tooko her in his car and told her to rest and wait for him while he bought food for them. He said, he would find a place for her to stay. He drank some of his booze. Before they went back to the city, he would make it sure that they were already a couple. With one last gulp, he stood up then proceeded to the guest room.

Surprisingly, she slept well. After her shower, she went out of the bedroom. She smelled something delicious from the kitchen so she proceeded there.

"Good morning sunshine." Jay was all smile.

He was cooking breakfast. He looked cute with his apron on. She said a quiet good morning then sat on the kitchen stool. He served her some eggs and toast. He also poured coffee in her cup.

"Did you have a good night sleep?" he asked before sitting next to her.

She nodded. There was a sliding glass door in the kitchen so they had a good view of the pool.

“Is this we were supposed to have the photoshoot?”

Jay shook his head while he slathered some butter on her toast. She bit her lower lip. What he did, reminded her of Blake.

She sighed then took a bite of the toast. She really should forget him.

"Nope. That is a bit far. We need at least 5 hours to travel there. " he said while looking at her pretty face intently.

" Sorry for the trouble . I told you I could stay in a hotel. "she said.

"That's okay. I would worry about you if you stayed in a hotel room alone for a few days. I am always here if you need me. You should know how much I care for you. I want to apologize for my attitude these past few days. Maybe you know why I gave you the could shoulder ." He said as he continued to look at her left profile.

" But how about your work? The pictorial? Mr. and Mrs. Li are expecting the shots right? " she asked.

"I can afford to not go to the shop. Kay will come back today. I already called Joey and told him that you’ll be on an indefinite leave. We can have the pictorial tomorrow or the day after tomorrow. I asked the photographer to come here. We can do the shoot here since this place is also very nice so don't worry. Everything is settled. All you have to do is relax and stop worrying. I will take care of you sunshine." he said sounding serious.

"Look Jay..."

"I can wait. I know it's too soon. But I will wait. Just let me show you how much I want you to be mine." He sounded serious.

She looked at him. Who wouldn't want to be his woman? If he would say yes to Jay, Blake would leave her alone,.

"Okay. I will think about what you said." She said with a small smile.

Jay’s eyes eyes lit up and a grin appeared on his lips.

"You won't regret it sunshine." he said.

Jay was really taking good care of her. She was glad that she seemed to have stopped thinking of her ex a lot. Jay was fun to be with. He was sweet, thoughtful and a gentleman. And the most important thing was, he never made a pass at her.

It was their second day at the resort. While they were walking along the seashore that late afternoon, people were looking at them. They looked good together.

"We'll have the photo shoot tomorrow morning. Next day we’ll move to another place. Another friend has a nice town house a few hours from here.” he said.

He didn’t want Heather’s ex to find them. He wouldn’t let anyone or anything come between them. Even his personal problem wouldn’t not be in their way.

Heather stopped walking and turned to look at him. They have only been together for two days but she found out that he was a boyfriend material. Maybe what she needed was a new relationship. It will probably be okay if she would really reconsider giving him a chance but not now. She didn't want to give herself and her heart to another man yet.

She moistened her lips before saying, "Jay, I want to say that I will try to give you a chance.”

"Do you mean that?" he sounded really happy.

She nodded. “ Yes but..” she wasn’t able to continue what she was about to say when he suddenly framed her face and kissed her on the lips.
