Annoying Woman
At the same dining table, the three of them sat in an awkward atmosphere. Lunar didn't stop stealing glances at the two couples in front of her alternately. Arkan didn't stop loosening his tie as if it wanted to strangle his neck. Raya felt that a table that used to be occupied by only two people and now had to be shared with strangers, that made her feel uncomfortable.
Arkan was still contemplating what his secretary said yesterday regarding a house that could not possibly be used as a place for two women to live. If allowed to choose, of course he would drop his choice on Raya. Unfortunately, now he can't choose at all. How can he expel Raya who has been living in this house with him for so long?
Did he buy just one apartment for Lunar to live in? He will live with Raya in his current house, so that no one feels uncomfortable with the atmosphere that requires them to meet face to face.
However, if it was like that, surely his father would not allow the son-in-law of the Gray family to live in the apartment alone. The question of determining who would stay was extremely complicated. Why did Lunar have to appear in his life?
Arkan brushed aside all the doubts that made him so frustrated, then said, "Soon Lunar and I will get married. After that, in this house there cannot be two women, because it will only cause news that is not about us."
Raya heard the words carefully. What she concluded was Arkan wanted to get one of them out of the house. Is she the one who will be expelled? Because only she has no reason to stay there.
There was nothing wrong with Arkan's decision because she felt that it was right. There can't be two women under one roof. On the other hand, why did she have to occupy the house before Lunar? everything was so unfair to her.
Lunar nodded her head, agreeing with the decision to get Raya out of the house. The existence of other women in their conditions of marriage would only complicate things. Maybe, the good name that has been painstakingly maintained becomes threatened again. It's enough for those who are the impact of misunderstandings to be trapped in a marriage bond.
"That's why I decided to buy an apartment so one of you could live in."
"D-do you intend to kick me out?" Raya said, hoping that her bad thoughts didn't really happen.
Arkan shook his head confidently. "No. I'll get Lunar out."
Raya widened her eyes, so surprised because what she was thinking was clearly different from reality. Especially Lunar who was even more surprised to hear the decision which she thought was very unreasonable.
How could Lunar be kicked out of the house where the wife of Arkan should have lived? Even though their marriage was something of a sham, it still made no sense because the person who was supposed to be the mistress of the house had to give in.
“W-why me?”
“Because you're just a stranger, now or later after we get married. Even though you will bear the status of my wife.”
Lunar didn't know what else to say. She also couldn't deny that his existence was only due to a mistake that had to be accepted. They were just foreigners living in the same place. No. in fact, now she will live in an apartment alone. The wife of the businessman himself is exiled in a special place. Isn't that sad?
So what's wrong with all of that? What made her have to grieve? They are just strangers and forever will be. The party that would benefit the most here would be her, right? Within that one year she was able to obtain a shelter of shining status. It doesn't matter if she's alone in the apartment. After all, she really didn't know anyone else in this house anymore.
"If you've made up your mind, I can't refuse." Lunar said, hiding how excited she was right now.
“How about we just clear up this misunderstanding? Wouldn't that be better? There will probably be more news, but at least you don't need to get married." Raya says actually their situation is so sad and she wants to save them all from it.
"No!" Lunar and Arkan shouted loudly.
The atmosphere that had been calm immediately changed. Raya looked at those who called out in turn with an expression as if demanding an explanation. Clearing up misunderstandings isn't a great solution to that unwanted marriage? That way, there is no need to hold a wedding celebration. All will return to their respective positions with Raya being the real bride-to-be.
“I-I...”
Lunar was confused about what reason to give for her choice to disagree. If she says doesn't want her whereabouts known which will only result in her being remarried, she will sound like a woman seeking refuge from someone else's husband-to-be.
"Father has made his decision,"—Arkan held Raya's hand that was on the table—"You know how dad is, don't you?"
Raya lowered her head and took a deep breath. She was only thinking about her wishes, not wanting the wedding to actually happen. She didn't think about how Arkan would be in people's eyes if suddenly two women appeared. Not to mention that who is known as Arkan's best friend since childhood will definitely raise all kinds of questions about the love relationship between them. She also knew that Arkan did not want to disappoint Damian if the business being managed would be affected later.
Raya pursed lips as she touched her hand to the one that was holding it. "I understand."
Seeing the relationship that existed between the two couples in front of her made Lunar feel awkward himself. Its existence is like being in the third person, something that was never intended before, but what to do when the rice has become mush? it's not just Arkan who doesn't want to be in the current situation. She also doesn't want to live in a fake marriage. There's still a lot she wants to do out there, live a normal life if it wasn't for Nico.
***
Lunar follows where the feet of the man lead him to a new place of residence. She was between two tall and slender men. In that deserted alley the three of them walked with Arkan as their guide, behind is Secretary Ham dragging a dark colored suitcase whose contents are unknown.
The red carpet that she has walked since earlier became her welcome. Somehow she felt a little sad because she had to be in the apartment alone. After all, she who lives with his family always has someone to talk to. The discussions that occur are always about when she will get a job or talk about marriage. She shouldn't have missed that discussion she was reluctant to face. Maybe, she just missed her parents.
“For the future, you will stay here.”
Lunar looked at the suitcase that was brought into a room whose door had been opened. She didn't immediately pay attention to Arkan's words and preferred to enter the apartment. Her gaze was carried around to find out what kind of place to live in. She thought that Arkan would give her an ordinary place to live because she was just a foreigner, but the reality was not what she imagined, Arkan gave her a luxurious place to live.
"Thank you, Arkan."
“No need to thank. I am doing all of this because you will have the status of… um, as my wife.” Arkan cleared his throat a bit because it was the first time for him to say the word 'wife'. He felt awkward, but had to get used to it since Lunar was about to become his wife.
Arkan noticed the black suitcase that Secretary Ham had brought earlier. “For the time being, you can use the clothes in this suitcase. It's already late enough to buy clothes. I'm not an all-in-one man who can always bring what you need."
Lunar chuckled at the words flat, but inviting cuteness. “I never thought that you would be an all-in-one man. I'll stay here alone,"—she turned her head around the room, then pointed in one direction—"With flower pots, floor tiles, ceiling."
Arkan shifted his gaze from the flower pot to Lunar. Lunar would live alone in the apartment, there was no reason for him to live with Lunar.
"You will be my wife. There's no way I wouldn't come to this apartment. They will suspect our relationship if I am not seen entering the apartment that will be your residence.”
"You will live with me here?"
"Only once in a while will I come here."
"Okay."
Secretary Ham had been given a signal, immediately gave Lunar a pouch, inside of which was a cellphone that would facilitate their communication. Arriving at Lunar's hands, the new cellphone was looked at with sparkling eyes as if it had finally received such a big life aid.
“I already have my number and Secretary Ham's number in there. You can contact me only for something very important and urgent.”
The phone that rang made Arkan have to immediately pick up the call, but at that moment the ringing tone that sounded loud earlier stopped.
“Oh, it turns out this really is your number.”
Arkin growled in annoyance. "I told you to contact me for something very important and urgent only."
Lunar ignores the alert tone and stays busy with the new phone. There were only Arkan's and Secretary Ham's numbers on the phone, she had to think about whose number to save.
Until Lunar realized that it was time to say goodbye, she kept her cell phone before she pushed Arkan and Secretary Ham towards the apartment door.
“It's too late to visit now."
Arkan did not argue because it was already very late at night, but hearing Lunar say that he was visiting made annoyance cover the heart and soul.
"Visit?"
Arkan grinned, eager to argue. Too bad, the apartment door slammed shut in plain sight before he could continue.
“This is my apartment! I bought it! And you will be my wife after this!”
“C—calm down, Sir.” Secretary Ham tried to calm down, no fuss. Ye guides Arkan so they leave immediately.
