Chapter 36 - The History I
CELESTINA VILLARAMA'S POV
Filled with curiosity, I still don't understand how Stella and I were related to one another, knowing that I was just involuntarily taken into this realm by the moon goddess. I was once a human; that fact was the only thing that I'm sure of, and that's also the only one that I'm holding onto now.
But the possibility that I was literally born and raised in the Realm of Xenon, where werewolves and other creatures exist, was making me think twice about my whole identity. I could no longer distinguish between reality and what's not. I clearly know that I was on the verge of death when I fell from the edge of that cliff, but the memories after that scenario are all vague in my mind.
"If we're sisters... then you probably know me since birth, right?" I asked Stella, hoping that she'd just bow her head, but she chose to do the opposite. "You don't know anything about me? Or were you ordered by the alpha not to speak about my past?" I tried to divert the question and topic to the alpha, the one that I believe she adored so much.
Stella looked back and forth, checking whether the alpha was in our vicinity. "How can you tell that I'm being controlled by the alpha?" A small smirk on her lips appeared afterwards. "Alpha Lucas was also the one who told me to sway your emotions... I bet you're confused a hundred times more than when you haven't realized our relationship yet," she added, which was soon followed by her laughter.
I violently stood up from my seat, gripping on the cup of coffee that I had, suppressing the urge to throw it to her. "Was everything that you told me a lie?" I shut my eyes, but I could still see the image of Stella smirking.
"Not really. Most of it was real... except for the last part where I told you how much I missed you," she replied, and when I sensed her standing up, I opened my eyes to see her directly in front of me as if the glass in between us didn't even serve as a hurdle. "Why would I miss the person who ruined my entire life? Why would I search for the woman who destroyed my family? Why would I think about a selfish sister of mine who ran away with her man and never came back?" she consecutively questioned.
I gulped when I saw the intensity of her bloodlust that came from her eyes and the way she spoke. I thought that she would be attacking me, but she chose to back down and get out of the mansion.
I gritted my teeth out of frustration because I was terrified of Stella. I had no distinct memories about her yet, so I can't really tell whether she played a huge role in my life or not.
"What are you spacing out there for?" Lucas asked from behind, and when I turned around, our distance was literally only an inch apart. "Did Stella tell you something? I saw her going out just now," he mumbled.
I shook my head, unable to decide whether to ask him about what she knew about her. "It's nothing. You know that we're not on good terms since we first met when Ice brought me to choose my weapon," I lied.
The alpha invited me to head out of the mansion and stroll around. There wasn't anything special that occurred, but my curiosity about Ice has been eating me whole, so I could no longer stay silent.
"Ice? Ah, he's out there." Lucas pointed to the woods, where I didn't even get a glimpse of any silhouette of anyone. "We're too far away to see him. Let's go there; I have something to discuss with you about him anyway."
In less than a few minutes, we were able to arrive at the woods, where I was almost hit by the thick branches of those trees. We still haven't uttered a single word, but Ice seemed to sense our presence since he turned our way out of the blue.
"Celestina..." Ice whispered my name, as if he were neither delighted nor dismayed to see me. "Lucas, why did you bring her here?" he questioned the alpha.
Lucas went to the other side of the tree, where Ice was. He placed one of his palms on its trunk, which later caused its destruction. There were loud thumps created because of how it fell to the ground. "I think it's about time for us to tell her everything we know, Ice. You know it yourself... that you can't run away from the truth forever," he said, trying to convince the delta.
Ice was so opposed to every attempt by Lucas to tell me about my past, but it doesn't seem that way anymore. "Go," he coldly replied before he returned to what he was doing with the trees.
"Stop what you're doing for a while, Ice. I can't focus." Lucas held Ice by both of his shoulders, forcing him to sit on the land without any resistance.
I sat right beside him, causing Ice to suddenly move away from me. "What? Are you avoiding me after getting me drunk that night?" I rolled my eyes. "I thought you weren't on good terms with Ace, so I didn't really expect that you'd be joining him in making me drink those," I added to make him feel that I was disappointed in him.
Ice sighed, then went back to my side at the same time that Lucas joined us. We formed a circle on the ground. "So, who's going to tell her?" Lucas asked, waiting for Ice to respond.
Ice bowed his head, crossing his legs to form an Indian sit. He played with his fingers as he tried to think about whether he should be the one to talk or let the alpha do the honor. "Do you still remember what Ace showed you last night?"
I nodded my head once. "The part where Alpha Siege was searching for me, and also that part where you were protecting people?" I asked for assurance that I remembered correctly.
"That damn Ace really gave you a real memory... I thought he was playing with you," Ice muttered in disbelief. "I can't tell you that much about Alpha Siege, but for my part..." He turned his head to face me with uncertainty in his eyes.
"If you can't tell her, then I'll do it," Lucas firmly said, trying to steal his delta's spotlight.
"I'm a human from the same world as yours, Celestina," Ice mumbled in such a straightforward manner. "I was saving those people from our world that was suffering from judgment day. It was the last day that I saw your father. It was the day that I promised you that I'd go back in one piece... and it was also the day of my death.”
