Chapter 45 - The Danger
CELESTINA VILLARAMA'S POV
As soon as I heard Siege's statement, I felt like time had frozen. My eyes widened, and I haven't blinked for more than a minute already. I completely had no idea what he was talking about.
From the memories that I recovered, both of my parents were still alive. I even saw them when Celeste was playing mind games with me before, so I'm a hundred percent certain that my mother and my father were doing well at this point, even though I was no longer with them.
I would've believed the alpha's words if he just told me that it was Ice who got killed. "A-are you being real right now, Alpha Siege Wong?" I gritted my teeth as I looked down, preventing myself from releasing the tears that were piling up in my eyes that were already blocking my vision.
"If you still hadn't known that you were Tina, I would still have the reason to lie to you..." Siege released my hands as he chose to cup my cheeks with his warm palms. "I have no further intention to hurt you, Celestina. Everything that I've said and will do in the future, all of them would be my sincere actions," Siege said as his thumb reached for my eyes, which kind of forced my tears to roll down to it.
"W-why did you do it..." I clenched my fists, endlessly smacking them against his chest, which was as sturdy as steel. "H-how long has it been since my parents died in your hands, Siege Wong?!" I could no longer contain the anger that was mixed up with my misery.
A surge of bloodlust began to rise from my soul to my mind. 'I could kill this beast in front of you if you want; just get me out of here,' uttered Celeste, who was yearning to shift with me.
I frustratingly held my hair, pulling it to hurt myself. Crouching on the ground, Siege tried to get me back up, but I smacked his hand away. "Don't touch me!" I yelled from the bottom of my lungs.
'Your parents were your only treasure, right? Would you be able to forgive a man who killed them, even if he's your mate?' Celeste kept on urging me to let her out.
I stood up, hurrying outside the small room that made me feel suffocated. Even though it was too bright just a few minutes ago because of the morning sun, there was a thick, dark cloud that covered it now. After observing it for a while, I noticed that there was another circle in the sky.
"W-what's that?" I pointed at the circle, not bothering if there was anyone out there who could give me an answer. "Isn't that a moon? But, it's still morning; it's not even afternoon yet!" I sounded so confused.
The alpha finally went out of the hut and glanced up to where I was pointing. "It's almost time, Celestina..." he mumbled, which made me even more confused than I was. "That damn moon goddess will soon arrive in our land, and she will be repeating the same thing that she did to us years ago," he continued.
"J-judgment day?" I inquired, forgetting about what we discussed earlier, and he nodded his head in response. "That can't be happening all over again, right?"
Siege heaved out a loud sigh, walking in front of me. "This is exactly the reason why I hated you when you first arrived here, Celestina. Your hair, the necklace... everything that you had reminded me of that moon goddess that I despise the most," he explained, and I couldn't help but notice the fast pace of his breathing pattern.
"Sarina... she's close to me," I said, holding onto the golden necklace that I still wore up until now. "She was the one who gave me this necklace, and she appears whenever I threaten her that I'll break it," I uttered, showing him the pendant.
Siege carefully examined the pendant, as if there was something worth looking at. However, when he attempted to grab it, there was some sort of barrier that blocked his fingers from touching it. "I guess she's watching over us after all." He smirked.
"Whatever's bound to happen will happen; no matter what we do to prevent the same occurrence from falling into our lives, it would be absolutely inevitable," I said, sipping through the air with my slightly parted lips. "The only thing that we can do now is focus on what's in front of us. Tell me, Siege... Why did you kill my parents? You don't have to be hesitant in telling me the truth; you know that I won't be able to harm you either way," I calmly asked him, initiating a cool atmosphere between the two of us.
The alpha invited me to sit on the stone that was beside the medium-sized bushes that were beside us. He stared at me for a minute before he finally decided to speak up.
"I was still an immature kid back then. I really had no ulterior motives to do what I committed. I just did as I was told; my wolf was the one that forced me to kill your parents because of the intense vexed state that I was in when I saw the moon goddess annihilating my parents right in front of my eyes."
Siege began to explain his side, and he could barely maintain eye contact with me.
"That was the biggest regret of my life. I wish that I could've turned back time and just slept for hours that day; in that case, I wouldn't have put anyone in harm's way. My parents wouldn't have died in the moon goddess' hands, and your parents wouldn't have died in mine," Siege added.
My eyebrows furrowed, trying to comprehend what Siege was telling me. I crossed my legs, holding my knees, as I tried my best to remain as calm as possible.
"Your sister, Stella Villarama, was there at the scene too," Siege said.
