Chapter 48 - The Displeasure
CELESTINA VILLARAMA'S POV
My whole body became quite numb, and I could barely hear any sound that came from the people I saw passing here and there. Not until a man who was supposed to be out of my league came to pick me up from the ground with his bare hands, carrying me through his arms as he dropped me on a long sofa and then sat on the opposite edge.
"With that fragile expression in your eyes, I can tell that Celeste finally let you go," Siege said as he gave me a cup of tea that was in the center of the table in front of us. "Do you remember what happened? Do you share memories with Celeste, or are you completely unaware of your surroundings when she's the one in control of your entire conscience?" he asked consecutively, making it seem like he was dying to know the answers.
I nodded my head twice. "I can see and hear everything even if she's the one taking over. Isn't it the same for you and everyone else here?" I asked this time, and the alpha shook his head as a response. "I thought that it was normal for wolves to share memories..."
"It's not normal for those werewolves who totally shift their appearances. But in your case, you're not really shifting into your wolf yet. It's more like you're switching personalities, or you have another identity, which is Celeste, the one who's more aggressive than the one we know," Alpha Siege explained.
I gulped the whole tea. "You don't have to listen to whatever Celeste told you, Siege. If you don't really see me as the one fitted to be your Luna, then you're free to search out there and find the one who best fits the role," I said, which somehow made a piercing sensation through my heart.
Clenching one of my fists, I placed it in front of my chest. Considering that Alpha Siege wasn't the only option that I have, even if he ends up choosing someone else, it wouldn't affect me that greatly. I still have Alpha Lucas and Ice around.
"Are you throwing me away, Celestina?"
I blinked at a fast pace, unable to conceive of what Siege meant by his query. "W-what do you mean? You're not trash to be thrown away, Siege."
"Those looks in your eyes when you told me to search for someone else make me anxious. Are you already seeing a man other than me?" Siege stared deeply into my eyes before he placed his hand above mine.
"Am I not allowed to? We're not mates, we're not lovers, and we're definitely not compatible with each other. I don't see any reason to hold myself back from falling in love with whoever I want or whom my heart chooses," I answered, removing his hand away from mine.
Standing up, I walked out of the mansion without bidding my farewells to the alpha. If he dares to follow me outside, then he must be a psycho. With the highness of his pride, I doubt that he'd let himself be seen by the public together with me, the one he rejected.
"Celestina, wait for me! Where are you running off to now?" Siege yelled from the lobby, almost making me shriek as I had my assumptions mistaken. "You don't know me anymore, Celestina. If you thought that I still have pride, then erase that thought. I've become more considerate of those that are around me," he said as if he read my mind.
I rolled my eyes at the same time that I pouted. "Will you still follow me if I say that my destination is the Silver Moon Pack?" I curled my lips into a smirk.
Alpha Siege stopped his tracks. "Is staying in my territory suffocating for you? Is it because of what I told you last time? That I was the one who killed your parents?"
Biting my lower lip as firmly as I could, I glared at the alpha. "You're still the same. You still don't have any idea how to read the atmosphere," I whispered to myself, turning my back around to step towards the other side of the gates.
However, before I could totally escape from the Crimson Moon Pack house, Alpha Siege managed to hold me captive within his arms, trapping me on his chest. If there's really a thing called a miracle, then this must be one of its definitions. His heartbeat was terribly racing, and I could hear it pounding through my head, to my ears, and even down to my own chest. It feels like I was matching the alpha's heartbeat.
"S-Siege, what are you doing?" I asked, afraid that I might misunderstand the way that he's clinging on to me. "People out here would see the two of us..." I roamed my eyes around the area where no one was found.
Alpha Siege held my shoulders, slightly pushing me to meet my gaze. "Are you that dense?" He clicked his tongue in irritation. "This is my way of telling you not to go there, Celestina," he coldly said, letting me go.
I was taken aback by the sudden change in alpha. He became more aggressive than before, and he's making it more obvious how he dislikes having me near another person's territories other than his.
"I'm not supposed to stay any longer than this, Siege. Alpha Lucas just gave me a special leave in his pack; I'm already one of their Omegas, just like Stella," I explained to him, even though it would seem kind of meaningless.
Alpha Siege shook his head. "You made an agreement with Lucas? That you'll be staying there for the rest of your life?" he inquired with such a frustrated look. "You know that he's not related to you in any way, right?"
I nodded my head obediently. "Even so, he was the one who took great care of Ice, my first lover in the real world." I smiled.
He deeply glared at me, and a few seconds later, his eye color changed. "Ice? So, is that the man you're going for since I rejected you once?" He groaned with his eyebrows furrowed.
