Chapter 49 - The Torture
CELESTINA VILLARAMA'S POV
I had no choice but to return to the pack house when the alpha insisted that I shouldn't return to the Silver Moon Pack since they don't have a great connection with each other anymore, unlike before. He still considers Lucas one of his foes, even though they could've just solved all of their problems with a mere proper discussion, without having the thought of arguing with one another, and that someone should remain on top.
"What am I supposed to do here, Siege? I don't have any obligation to stay here with you, and most importantly, I don't have any pact with you as the alpha here," I asked with a frown.
We were currently inside his office, and it was the first time that I saw him wearing eyeglasses. It didn't suit him before, but now that he has grown to be such a mature man, I think that he would look fine no matter what his appearance was.
Alpha Siege didn't bother to fix his hair, which was blocking his eyesight. "If that's your problem, then we can just make a pact right here and right now. That's not much of an issue," he replied without batting an eye at me.
His eyes were fixated on the documents that he was busy scanning and stamping his signature on. Come to think of it, once I become a proper Luna of an alpha, I don't think that I will be confident enough in my strength alone and my capabilities to handle the pack's business matters.
"Have you already forgotten the sacred rule made by the Moon Goddess, Sarina?" I heaved out a sigh as I sat on the chair right in front of his desk. "Once a wolf has been claimed or owned by a certain alpha, the wolf must swear to stay loyal only to that pack for the rest of their lives, not unless both parties agree for the wolf to be transferred to another pack or be absolutely vanished and turn rogue," I explained to make him recall the rule of the goddess.
Siege gritted his teeth at the same time that he dropped the papers on his table with a loud thud. He glanced up at me while his head remained facing down, which sent chills down my spine as he stared at me with those dead eyes that still screamed ferocity.
"Do I look like I give a damn about that moon goddess? She was the one who forced us here. I don't give a f*ck about the useless rules that she implemented; I'll disobey all of them," Siege said, returning his focus to his documents. "If you have nothing else better to say, just shut your mouth," he added.
I furrowed my eyebrows in frustration. "It's not like I was the one who wanted to stay here, Siege. You didn't want me to go to Alpha Lucas, and yet you're treating me like I'm such an eyesore," I complained, standing back up. "I'd rather go back there."
Without any other words from the alpha, I went out of his office, only to be greeted by Amelia. I gave her a confused look, noticing that she seemed to be waiting for me to get out. "The alpha wants me to tour you around the weaponry grounds. He already anticipated that you'd be walking out after a short conversation with him, so I have been waiting for you to get out of his office," she said with a small grin on her lips.
"Weaponry? For what?" I asked with pure curiosity as I closed the office's door behind me.
The two of us walked side-by-side through the hallways until we reached a dead end. I thought that we would be turning around to take the stairs instead, but she pulled a lever down the corner of the wall, which opened another path for us to enter.
"I never knew that a place like this existed inside the Crimson Moon Pack..." I commented, causing the maid to giggle since I wasn't supposed to say that out loud. "Why did Siege want me to go here?" I inquired to change the atmosphere.
Amelia gestured to me to follow her until the lower ground. There were a lot of shelves around us where different weapons were present. Some of it was secured with a lock. And some of them were locked with chains made out of silver.
"You have to train here for two to three days by yourself, Celestina. The alpha will visit you by then, and if he doesn't see any improvements from you after that duration, he will be placing you in the cells for a month," Amelia said, pointing at the available materials that I can utilize for my training sessions.
I gazed at her with disbelief. "I don't think that I would gain something by simply training on my own, Amelia."
The maid placed both of her hands on my cheeks, slightly pressing her fingers on them. "You're not really alone..."
A few seconds after she uttered those words, there was a huge cell that appeared on the other side of the room where we were in. There were about five rogues that were obviously hunting for their next prey. They don't seem to be sane; their saliva was drooling from their mouth, and they had enlarged teeth. Their eyes were filled with darkness, and nothing could be seen from deep within, no matter how long I stared at them.
"A-are you telling me to defeat these on my own?"
"Yes. Why? Do you want me to go to the alpha and tell him that you can't do it?" Amelia gently pushed me towards the cage, making the rogues roar. "What do you think the alpha would think of you if he realizes that you're really just a weakling who had a past connection with him? Won't he choose someone else to be his mate and the pack's Luna instead of sticking with you?" she consecutively questioned me, causing me to clench both of my fists.
"I'd rather take this torture head-on than face such a humiliating scene from Siege again."
