Chapter 76 - The Innocence
CELESTINA VILLARAMA'S POV
I was still a little bit disappointed with the way that Beta Kristoffer was trying to hide his real feelings. I can sense how much he's stopping himself from declaring his love for Celestina, and that's one of the reasons why I hate him. He could just be honest with himself; there's no crime when it comes to loving someone anyway, not unless they force them to do something the opposite party dislikes.
As Lucas said, the full moon shone brightly on us. It felt like there was a spotlight that was specifically directed at us. "It's about to come. The beginning of an end. And the end of a beginning," I meaningfully said, referring to judgment day and the rising of the next portal.
Because of how much time I wasted talking with Beta Kristoffer, the thought that the Crimson Moon Pack's warriors were still chasing us slipped past my mind. It seems like everyone gathered outside the mansion and was just waiting for the right opportunity to strike us.
"You saved me the time to search for all of you," I loudly said, advancing forth. Ice tried to stop me from going any further, so I glared at him from head to toe so that he'd at least know his place. "I'm not Celestina, you know," I informed him, in case he had no clue about how she let me shift with her.
Ice had no choice but to let go of me. "Don't put her life at danger's risk."
I proceeded in front of the warriors and looked at the man in the center, who seemed to be the leader among them. "If I'm not mistaken, you're Ace, right?" I asked, raising one of my eyebrows as the rest of them made way for the two of us to have space.
"And what about it, Celeste?" Ace replied, who didn't seem to be intimidated by my presence. He doesn't have the same set of eyes that he had back when Celestina was still on the Crimson Moon Pack's turf. He definitely had a part of his brain erased.
"I see what's going on. You're being controlled by Alpha Siege, huh?" I chuckled, letting him feel that I pity him for being dumbfounded because of his memory loss. "Order all of your warriors to get rid of all the bodies they killed here and return to your pack, Ace," I commanded him, despite knowing that he had pride of his own.
Ace smirked with a soft laugh. "What makes you think that I'd obey you? You're a stranger to me, Celeste. I don't give a damn if you're the alpha's fated mate," he said with a deadly gaze.
I raised my index finger, roaming my eyesight at my surroundings to make all of the warriors focus their attention solely on me. "I'm Alpha Siege Wong's fated mate, Celeste Villarama. I order all of you to do as I said earlier, or else all of you will face your death this instant," I announced.
Thinking that none of them would believe my statement, I set up an example. I rushed to the spot of the warrior, who was in front and didn't seem to have any intention to listen. I held his head and forced him to look at me.
"Hi."
I greeted him with a wide smile before I pierced my long, sharp nails on his stomach, going up to his chest. I twisted my hand around in search of his heart, and when I touched it, I immediately pressed it as I pulled it out of his chest, causing his organs to be exposed.
"See what happens when you don't listen?" I showed them my hand that held the beating heart of the warrior I killed. "Get your ass moving now unless you want to be put in the same situation as him."
At the speed of light, they vanished from our vicinity. "You're really something, huh? Now I understand why the Moon Goddess chose to curse you instead of setting you free," Ace commented as he sighed, refusing to believe that his warriors just followed me without asking for his permission.
"Now that they're gone, what are you going to do?" I leaned my head closer to his, our foreheads almost touching one another. "Do you want to test me and fight me in a duel?"
Ace took a step backward, raising his left hand. "I'd rather not. I'd die in the hands of the alpha if he heard that I killed you here," he mumbled, causing me to clench my jaw.
The way that he ridiculed me made me irritated. He made it seem like I was an easy target for him.
"Don't do anything to Ace," Ice mumbled from behind. "He's not worth your time, Celeste. Let's fall back," he added, grabbing my forearm as he pulled me towards my spot earlier.
"Consider yourself lucky that your brother here still cares for you," I said to the leader of the pack warriors. "Why are you pulling me so casually? Do you want to add your heart to my palm?" I showed him the same heart, which he smacked, causing it to fall to the ground. I pouted when I lost it, but my disappointment vanished as soon as Beta Kristoffer glanced my way.
"Let's have a drink," Beta Kristoffer invited me, gesturing to me to follow him around. "All of you can choose to follow us at the bar or stay here," he said to the rest, who have been keeping their mouths shut since the time I appeared.
We traveled quite far from the pack house just to move to a bar that wasn't that populated. "Are you sure that we have the time to get drunk when I should be running to the other pack and letting Siege see me?" I questioned him, who was busy ordering a set of drinks for us.
"Yeah, there's no issue with that. And besides, I know that you have a high alcohol tolerance, unlike Celestina," he replied, paying for the tab even though we haven't even drank anything yet.
We sat in the farthest part of the bar, far away from the people who could possibly hear our conversation.
"Why have you been staring at me, Leo?" I asked the beta of the Silver Moon Pack. "You've been weirding me out, and I'd seriously be creeped out if your reason is because you're interested in me."
Leo almost choked on his drink upon hearing what I said. "This is the first time I've seen someone shift so normally. You're not even in your wolf form, so I was wondering if you're a Lycan or something," he uttered, wiping his lips with his bare hands.
I gave him a piece of tissue, but when he refused to get it from me, I was the one who used it to wipe his face. My action made him stop moving. "Why are there a lot of men interested in Celestina?" I mumbled, frowning. "Can't you just choose to love me instead of her?" I added before I put the tissue down on the table.
"What are you trying to say, Celeste?" Beta Kristoffer asked, even though he wasn't the one I was talking to. "You're seriously going to put Celestina in a bind if you keep this up. Just finish drinking that and let's go back to my brother," he said, pushing the bottle of alcohol toward me.
I pinched his cheeks. "You're red."
I smiled when I noticed how he got flustered with a simple pinch. I leaned my face closer to his ears so that I could whisper to him.
"If this is enough to make you aroused, then I wonder how you'd react once I do it with you while we're both drunk." I let out a soft giggle.
