Chapter 77 - The Acceptance
CELESTINA VILLARAMA'S POV
It has been half an hour since we stayed at the bar. I was the only one who remained sane; Beta Kristoffer, Lucas, Leo, and Ice were all drunk now. They kept on blabbering things that I could barely understand.
Leo tried to trap me in his arms, and that alone was enough to make me think that he really was interested in Celestina. Meanwhile, Ice was quiet in the corner and had his forehead banging on the table. Lucas kept on grinning while pointing through mid-air, which caused them to glance at where he was pointing even though there was nothing to be seen because it was only the wall there.
Beta Kristoffer didn't look like he was drunk, but I could notice the slight changes in his actions. I wanted to take him to bed, but I was worried that the rest of them might get back to their senses and defeat the spirit of alcohol. I doubt that they wouldn't do anything to me if they saw that I'm trying to dominate Beta Kristoffer in bed.
"Let's go back to the Crimson Moon Pack. Time is ticking; we have to hurry before the sun rises," I said, even if no one would listen to me. I planned to carry each one of them outside the bar, but Beta Kristoffer didn't let me. "Why are you holding me there?"
My voice let out a soft whimper when I felt his fingertips trailing down the skin of my arm. I know that I shouldn't be affected by something as simple as this; it must be the effect of the alcohol.
"Don't go, Celeste. Stay with me; don't go to Siege. Forget about being mates with him. He rejected you once; it's your turn to reject him this time around," Beta Kristoffer hoarsely muttered while he was tightly gripping my hand.
Our current position makes my heart flutter. He was sitting in the same place as he was earlier, while I was already standing and was about to take my leave. The way that he gently caressed my hand made me think that he would rather die than let me go and be mates with his brother.
I realized that this was a huge opportunity for me to make Beta Kristoffer fall for me completely and turn Celestina's life miserable. So, without any further hesitation, I closed my hand, which he held, and let him feel that I'd always be right here.
"I'm not going anywhere, Beta Kristoffer. As long as you'd promise me one thing," I mumbled, partially sitting on the table with my legs stretched.
Beta Kristoffer hummed. "What is it? I'll do anything your heart desires if it results in your happiness," he responded, which I found amusing.
"Marry me," I said in such a straightforward manner. "Marry me and go away from your brother's pack. Let's build a pack of our own. You can use me to breed as much as you want," I added to not make those two words seem confusing.
The snores of those that were with us almost made me shriek. I forgot that they were still here, and it would've been quite embarrassing for them to hear that I was the one proposing to a man instead of the other way around.
Beta Kristoffer suddenly fixed his posture. He rubbed his eyes and repeatedly blinked. "Am I dreaming? Or am I hallucinating because of the alcohol?" he asked himself.
I pinched his cheeks again. "You're not dreaming," I said, letting him go. "Marry me, Beta Kristoffer. Take this chance to hold my hand for eternity and become an alpha of your pack. Who knows? Our pack might become stronger than Siege's." I tapped the back of his hand, which was still holding mine.
"That's not possible, Celeste. You're well aware that the Moon Goddess would destroy this realm in a few days," he replied, looking down. "I think it would still be better for all of us if you chose Siege over me or anyone else," Beta Kristoffer added.
I removed my hold on his hand, facing him. "I have an idea," I muttered, looking at the rest of the men who were with us. "Let's go outside for a while."
Heading out of the bar was a hassle as my vision kept moving here and there, and everything else began spinning around as if it were intended to make me fall. I had to keep my arms stretched out to keep myself walking in a straight line as I touched the wall as my guide.
The smell of the cold breeze was refreshing. I embraced myself, and at the same time, I turned to face the beta, who was glancing up at the dark sky.
"If you're thinking of using me to make Siege feel betrayed, think more thoroughly," Beta Kristoffer said as if he had read my mind.
I softly gasped, slightly covering my mouth with my fingers. "How did you know my plan?" I laughed, swaying around to ease the dizziness I was feeling.
Beta Kristoffer faked a laugh. "It won't be easy to make Siege feel betrayed, Celeste, especially if it's you," he said, walking further away from me. "Siege doesn't care if you'll fall for someone else," he added.
I followed his tracks, catching up to him before I slowed down my pace. "Are we going to leave them behind?" I asked, referring to the people who were still at the bar.
He told me that it was the main reason why he invited us to have a drink—so that they would get drunk to the point that they'd no longer be capable of tailing us.
"Anyhow, the situation has changed. None of us can guarantee whether Alpha Siege won't be affected if he hears about our love for each other or not. If Sarina really intends to set Celestina free from the curse, then Alpha Siege would certainly feel down after he gets rejected by me," I responded to his statement earlier.
Our trip was quicker than expected. We were already back in the Crimson Moon Pack's territories, but Beta Kristoffer decided to bring me somewhere else first rather than going straight to the mansion and Alpha Siege's office.
"This feels like it's the first time you've ever brought a woman into your house," I muttered as I roamed my eyes around.
The beta let me use the shower, and he gave me clothes from his drawer for me to go change mine. "We can't go to Siege right away, not until you've completely washed off those blood stains on your body," he explained, explaining why he came here first.
I couldn't stop myself from expressing my appreciation for him, which was quite unusual for me. Soon after I finished taking a bath, I went to his kitchen, since that was where I heard him. He was preparing a small dish for the two of us.
"That was fast. Eat before you think about your next move." Beta Kristoffer ordered me to sit beside him as he ate the noodles. "If you end up messing with Siege's heart later on, what do you plan to do afterwards?" he asked, his eyes beaming with curiosity.
I leaned on my back. I told him that I had no plan since I only intended to hurt Siege and marry Beta Kristoffer. "It's what Alpha Siege did anyway. He took my sister, Stella, as his. So I'm going to take you, his brother, as mine," I answered without any second thoughts, not removing my eye contact with him as we were staring at each other while holding onto our plates.
"Are you being real, Celeste?" Beta Kristoffer softly questioned, placing his plate on the table. "If you are, then, shall I show you how serious I can get when it comes to the woman I love?”
