Chapter 78 - The Emotion
CELESTINA VILLARAMA'S POV
The two of us have made up our minds to head over to the mansion now that we have finalized our plan after a few minutes of discussion with our clear, sober minds. I thought that Beta Kristoffer would've been harder to convince to play along with me, but I guess love really beats everything else.
I can literally tell that the beta was in love with me, on a serious note. He could've turned me down at will, but he chose not to. A normal brother would've chosen their sibling rather than the other way around.
"Amelia," I called out to the maid who walked past us and didn't even bother greeting us. "Where's Alpha Siege?" I asked to save us the trouble of searching here and there.
The maid glanced at me with a flustered expression. "A-Alpha Siege?" she stuttered. "I think he's still at his office," she added. She was holding a broom with both of her hands, and I noticed how much she was shaking.
Before I could say anything else, she had already taken her leave. "What's up with her? Does she fear Celestina or something?" I tilted my head sideways in confusion.
Beta Kristoffer shook his head. "It's not that. Amelia probably noticed that you weren't Celestina. There's this rumor around our pack about you, and it's all about how terrifying you are," he explained, which somehow eased up my confusion.
Choosing to forget about Amelia, we went upstairs. The door to the alpha's office was open, and when we heard him speaking, we leaned closer to the wall to listen.
"I knew it! So this was your plan all along; this was why you wanted to hold back the Luna ceremony for this much." Stella raised her voice at the same time that I heard a slam on the table.
"Shut your mouth," Siege coldly replied.
"I won't shut up, Siege. I'll never agree to this. You just used me for your own benefit, and now that you're sensing your mate, you're saying that you'll leave me all by myself?" Sarina scoffed. "You can't escape the fact that you made me pregnant, and you should bear the responsibility of raising them with me!"
There were footsteps storming closer to the door, and knowing that there wasn't any room for Beta Kristoffer and me to hide, we decided to face my sister.
I crossed my arms as I took consecutive steps forward, causing Stella to move backwards until her back had hit the wall. "What did I tell you?" I slightly raised my head, looking down on her. "I told you that you'd easily be discarded by Alpha Siege. I can't even imagine the shame you're feeling now," I said.
Stella hissed as she glared at me with those sharp eyes of hers. "You just came back here to say that?" She rolled her eyes. "Don't worry, Celestina, I'm not backing down because of this. It's not like you can claim Siege now that we've already submitted our contracts," she softly whispered, almost to make it seem like she didn't want it to be heard by Siege himself.
I glanced at the alpha, who was watching us intently. "Ah, do you mean that a contract can't be withdrawn?" I laughed, moving away from her as I made my way inside Siege's office. "Didn't you know that Alpha Siege can remove its purpose as long as he wants it?"
Stella clenched her fists. "Whatever!" She ran after getting humiliated. She probably has nothing else left to say to me.
"What do you think you are doing, Celeste? Why are you here?" Alpha Siege asked, rising from his seat.
Beta Kristoffer was the one who explained the scenario to the alpha, back when Celestina had no choice other than to shift with me when they were being chased by the warriors.
I smirked at the beta when I realized that he still hadn't mentioned the most important thing as to why we were back here. "Beta Kristoffer, aren't you going to tell him about us?" I asked him.
Alpha Siege didn't know who he should look at since he was anticipating that either one of us would talk. "If it's nothing as important as the Luna ceremony, then it's best to shut your mouth," he mumbled, pretending that he was fixing some documents of his.
I went to the beta's side, gently pinching his arm. "Where did all your confidence disappear?" I gestured to him to say it to his brother now, or else I'll do it.
Beta Kristoffer sighed, giving up. "Siege," he called out to his brother, even though Alpha Siege already had his full attention on us. "Celeste and I are going to get married. We've already discussed it before we came here, so there's nothing else that can change our minds," he confessed.
I pressed my hands together as I graciously turned around as if I were overjoyed. "Beta Kristoffer here was more than everything I could ever ask for, unlike you, Alpha Siege, who dared to have someone else," I said, giving the alpha a ferocious look.
Alpha Siege stopped touching the papers on his table soon after he heard what his brother said. Those little trembles from his fingers made me think that there was still a chance for Celestina and him to bring Stella down to her rightful place.
"Ah, is that so?" Alpha Siege coldly muttered, moving away from his desk. "Shall I congratulate you for stealing what's mine, Kris?"
I didn't even realize how quickly Siege walked over in front of the beta. It was like he was teleported there. Siege placed one of his hands on the beta's shoulder, firmly holding it.
"Celeste has declared herself as your mate since the beginning, but you never accepted her. You even banished her from your pack after you rejected her, as if it wasn't enough for her to feel anguished by that," Beta Kristoffer replied, as if he wasn't scared of his brother at all.
"Why are you getting mad at Beta Kristoffer? He's just telling the truth." I intervened when I saw the change in Siege's eyes, which wasn't good. "I'm going to stay at Beta Kristoffer's house for the meantime, only until we officially get married. We're going to build our own pack, so we can leave this place for good," I added.
Alpha Siege clicked his tongue at the same time that he pushed Beta Kristoffer away from his reach. The beta almost stumbled on the ground because of how strong the alpha was. Fortunately, I was there behind him to catch him.
"Are you serious, Celeste? Do you think I'm just going to simply let you go and be with Kris, especially now that I've begun to sense our mate bond?" Alpha Siege questioned at the same time that he brushed his hair back.
I nodded my head with no hesitation. "You could've believed me right from the start. Have you faced a lot of betrayals for you to distrust Celestina that much?"
Siege started to have lines on his forehead. "I already had a lot of women who straight up lied to me that they were my mates, even though I didn't sense any connection to them," he said.
Shrugging my shoulders, I invited Beta Kristoffer to move out of the alpha's office. "Well, there's nothing we can do about that now. I don't care how you plan to take me back as yours or if you still plan to pursue having Stella as your Luna and your chosen mate," I mumbled, waving my hand in a dismissive wave. "But I hope you won't forget that Beta Kristoffer and I are going to announce our wedding on the same night as your Luna ceremony."
