Congratulations

SEVEN YEARS LATER

The sun is shining bright in the sky. It is weekend. The streets is filled with vehicles. There might be families going out for fun. You can see couples walking on the road maybe heading for their dating spot hands in hands. The movie theatres and parks and other public places are filled. While some are heading to meet their family or relatives in the columbarium. And a room of a restaurant that is reserved, is filled with laughs and talks and memories. It is a reunion day.

ALICE'S POINT OF VIEW

Since that day, when I leaked the video resulting Sarah and I to quarrel I did not have any connection with Sarah. I miss her. Last year when I came to reunion for first time, I thought she will come, but she did not. Today also I am hoping to see her, but I don't think so she will come today too. I had already completed my studies and I have been working as a nurse in this city. I did not come to the reunion on the year I came back from abroad. When I was in the reunion last year, I did not talk to many of them. I was just sitting listening to every one of them. I was bored, but still I came again because I wanted to meet her and talk to her and apologize.

I could not go her home also because when I was abroad my parents shifted. So, the distance between our houses are far and I do not have guts to go to her home anymore. But the distance between our houses might be less than the distance that I created between us because of a mistake.

I was in a reunion, but most of my memories were with Sarah. I have missed her all these years. I don't know how she has been doing. I regretted my decision that I took without telling her. I had typed many messages to send her but I could not send.

In the restaurant's room:

I did not talk to many people, I talked to Kyle only. However, other classmates started teasing each other in which I also got involved. They started teasing me as Saww had liked me before. Out of the blue, one of them started teasing Tyler with Sarah's name. They brought those memories in which Sarah and Tyler hold each other's hand and Sarah sang the song. They also teased him as he had reserved a seat for Sarah. Everyone started teasing him except Tanie, Kyle and me.

Just then, Tanie stood up. So, everyone went silent. She cleared her throat. She said, "Hello, once again guys, I have two special announcements to make. The first one is that today the expenses are on me because I had won a lottery and it is my small treat to you guys." Everyone cheered and hooted. Then, she continued, “The second announcement is that…” she took Tyler's hand in her and the couple ring could be seen in their hands, “I and Tyler, we are engaged. We will get married soon. We had been in a relationship for more than 10 years now." The words she spoke made everyone shut and shocked. Even in all these reunion they never told about their relationship. So, no one spoke or maybe none of us knew what to tell. Then, a voice that came from the door broke the silence, "Congratulations."
