Alice and Sarah
SARAH'S POINT OF VIEW
The next day after my daily jobs, I returned home at 3p.m. and took a shower and wore a casual dress and headed to pick Alice. I messaged her and told her that I had already left from home. I reached her place and I greeted her parents and bid farewell after that.
We went to the car and it was unfamiliarly silent between us for a few minutes when we walked down to the parking and I broke the silence and said, "Let's go and see our favorite snack place that we always went when we were in school and talk there then." She laughed and said, "Let's go, I am hungry and I miss that snack place." We sat and I drove and played some music.
I asked her what she had been doing. She said, after she completed her studies she returned and is working as a nurse. We reached our favorite place. I parked my car in the parking area. We walked a little to reach there, went inside and sat. Alice said, "This place has changed a lot." I looked at her and said, "Not everything remains the same always. A change is necessary if the change does some good." She laughed and said, "Are you talking about this place or yourself?" Just then a waiter came and we ordered. I replied her, "Both" and winked. She excitedly asked, "So, tell me now, what have you been doing all these years?" I answered her, "After I quarreled with you, I also quarreled with my parents regarding my choice of study and then I left home."
She interrupted, "What?" I replied her, "Then, it took me more than 6 months to settle on my own. I did some small jobs to earn money and I also prepared for exams for law. I got scholarship, so I studied law and then I am a lawyer now." I told her everything in short. She was just looking at me without speaking anything. Finally she spoke, "I can't believe you did all that. So, as I have observed a little you have got success as an attorney, right?" I laughed slowly and bragged about myself, "Yes, I am the best lawyer you can find in this city. I am known to be the best young lawyer who got successful just in a year."
She looked shocked again, then she teased and said, "Oh, so you are famous also. Oh my god, I am so happy to hear about you. So, today's your treat right, Attorney Watson?" She winked her eye. I laughed and said, "Sure, and I will treat you properly in future." Just then waiter brought our food.
She asked again, "So, do you have a boyfriend now? There's no chance that Ms. Popular did not get one." I felt a little sour in my heart when I heard that and I replied, "Actually, after that day, I stopped trusting boys in the case of love. I have been through a lot just because of boys. So, I don't have any, what about you?" She looked sad when I told her, but she again cheered up and said, "I have one. You should meet him one day. We have been in relation for two years. He is an intern doctor. We love each other." I congratulated her and we talked about our memories from before while we ate and we returned. I dropped her in her house and went to my own. I have my own flat. I threw myself to my bed in the bedroom and my memory went back to the day when I had quarreled with Alice and my parents and I cried because I missed my parents.
~FLASHBACK PART 1
I cried a lot staying in my room. I just felt so bad for myself. I was so helpless. When it was midnight, I took out my suitcase and packed my clothes and in my backpack I kept my important documents and the money I had saved all these years. I left a letter and I slowly opened the door and walked aimlessly on the road and reached a park. There I stayed in a bench until it was morning. The whole night, I was scared to be alone. I was sad. I could not even cry. A few times I even thought of going back home, but I knew if I went back, I will not have this confidence anymore. So, I stayed there. I was thinking about what I should do now.
In Sarah's home:
When Mrs. Watson opened the door and when she did not find Sarah in her room and saw that the room was in mess, she was shocked. She cried her name few times and Mr. Watson also came. She saw the letter. She read it, [I am sorry, mom and dad. I have just decided to leave and try being independent. Please do not worry about me and do not search for me. I will return to you when I will become successful. I promise when I return I will be the daughter you guys wanted. I will make you proud of me. Stay healthy and take care. I am sorry again. Please understand me. I promise, I will not be regretting this decision. I will do better. I am really sorry. Bye. Love you. I will miss you. Please stay healthy.]
This letter made both of them panic. Mrs. Watson started crying and started telling Mr. Watson to find her daughter. Mr. Watson said that they should give their daughter her own rights and not search for her and that he trusts her. For few days, Mrs. Watson did not listen to her husband and tried to search Sarah but she also gave up finding her.
In the park:
SARAH'S POINT OF VIEW
I had turned my phone off. So, I stayed there for few more hours and went to a nearby cyber station. I started searching for the cheapest room to stay and which was far from my house. I jotted down the addresses that I could afford and went for a place hunt after taking the bus. Few places were good but the security were not so good while some places were dirty. In the middle of the hunt, I was hungry, so I just bought a bun and water and ate. Finally I found a room near a law campus in the rooftop of a three storey building. The room was small, there were a few kitchen appliances and it had a joint toilet. The landlady also seemed kind. The only problem was that the tap was outside and I had to fetch water from outside the room. But as it was good enough than any other place, I finalized the room.
I took out a cloth from my luggage and I cleaned the empty room. I was already tired, so I just slept on the floor by making a few stack of clothes as my pillow. The next morning, I went to a store, and bought a few pack of noodles for food. I searched for jobs and found one in a restaurant as a dishwasher. I also did a second job as a part time tutor for the landlady's daughter. For a month, I slept on the floor because I had to save money. I ate my breakfast in the landlady's house because she pitied me as I told her I came from countryside to study and also it was a part of my pay. I ate lunch and dinner that were served by the restaurant for workers. I bought few law books with the money I had and studied at night and when we had break in the restaurant.
When I washed the dishes for the first time, I remembered that my mom did not let me wash the dishes even when I insisted on doing. I had washed my dishes just once. Now, I had to do it daily which was not even mine. I always missed home and my family. I earned money and ordered the cheapest bedsheet, pillow and blanket. I was saving money because I did not know whether I would get a scholarship or not although I was studying hard whenever I got time. In the weekends, I had noodles or buns for dinner and lunch. I studied, I washed my clothes by hands and cleaned the room and the rooftop. I ended up losing weight little by little.
