What happened in the last half hour, at least I guess it was half an hour, blurred a bit in my head. Tyler was pretty upset about what happened. The doctor treated my head wound with something I didn't quite understand. He also looked at my neck, but probably didn't think it was bad and therefore only recommended that I cool it. But now, looking back, I couldn't even say what happened first.
The only thing I remembered very clearly was that the alpha of the pack came in at the end. His mate was there too and she actually seemed affected by what had happened to me. The Alpha, on the other hand, was loudly upset about it. So loud that my ears were ringing. He also let me show him my wound, which was a bit uncomfortable for me. After all, from my perspective, he wasn't exactly a popular figure and I didn't particularly like that he came so close to me.
Finally , the Alpha and his mate disappeared again. The doctor did some more tests and said something about concussion. Tyler sat next to me the whole time. As long as it didn't interfere with the doctor's work, he had his arm around me the whole time and if I was honest it didn't bother me, quite the opposite. Tyler kept asking the doctor things, and repeatedly asked for reassurances that I was otherwise fine. I actually expected that the doctor would be bothered after a while, but he remained calm and assured him for the 17th time that everything else was fine.
The doctor's twin came back into the room. I hadn't even noticed when he had even left. "Future Alpha Tyler, the Alpha wants to see you." "I'm not going to leave my mate alone!" Tyler exclaimed angrily. "She will be brought into the pack house and supervised." "After everything that happened today, why should I leave her alone and with strangers too!" Tyler said more and more furiously. "The Alpha ordered it, you don't have a lot of choice, that should be clear to you. If it suits you better, I'll keep an eye on your mate so at least you'll have a face of whoever's watching your mate." Tyler still didn't seem entirely satisfied, and the look he gave me showed that he was would rather have it different. ,,
Not paying much attention to my reaction, he picked me up and followed the other werewolf out. I had wrapped my arms around Tyler's neck for a better grip.
It was pretty chilly outside compared to the past few days, so I was quite glad that Tyler, being a werewolf, was a pretty good source of warmth. This time the way to the pack house didn't take long.
Eventually we reached a room that was smaller than the main dining room, but was still relatively large.
I now took the sentence about the concussion more seriously than before. I probably couldn't tell anyone which way leads into this room right now. I actually only noticed from the way here when we entered the house and finally reached this room.
Tyler set me down on a sofa that was right here. He looked at me with a weary look and sighed: "I'll go to the alpha then . I'll hurry to be back here quickly." Almost imperceptibly he breathed an innocent kiss on my forehead and turned away to leave the room. Just before the door he turned around again, gave me a small smile and left finally the room.
"Here," said the doctor's twin and handed me a soft blanket. It was relatively cool here in the room and goosebumps had spread on my arms. It felt colder in here than it had been outside before. I was surprised that the werewolf must have noticed right away.
I smiled at him in thanks until realizing my mistake.
Oh damn! I had looked a strange werewolf in the eye! And now that I think about it, I've probably been doing it all along. I averted my eyes in panic and stared at my knees. I still held the blanket in my hands, which were now shaking uncontrollably from sheer panic.
"Hey, everything alright?!", the werewolf asked in front of me, alarmed. He took the blanket off me and put it around my shoulders.
The door of the room was pushed open and I only heard how several people entered the room. "Hey Jared! Who's that gal?" asked a young sounding male voice. "She's the mate of one of the would-be Alphas and was attacked by one of the others today. Her mate is busy so I should keep an eye on her, but she started shaking so bad all of a sudden."
Somehow incidentally I noticed that everyone in the room, no matter how many there were, was standing around me or watching me. "Maybe she's in shock that's just coming off or something." Said another voice. "That doesn't sound so stupid... How do you know something like that, Mirko?" Jared said to the previous person. "In contrast to you, I listen to your brother when he says something.", he said only. "You really listen to his medicine talk?" Jared sounded genuinely puzzled. "Yes, I actually do that and maybe you should do it too. The girl looks a whole lot too pale around her nose." "Oh shit!" Jared cursed: "What am I going to do now?!" "You really don't listen to your brother? Oh man! Leg her feet up." , ,Like right now? Why is that?" "Look at them. Where do you think it would be practical if gravity increased the blood supply and what other part of the body isn't that important right now?"
Suddenly I lay with my back on the sofa, someone was holding my legs in the air and I stared at the ceiling in horror. "Damn people, don't be so hasty! Our goal is to keep her circulation stable and not make her pass out, right?"
"Hey, are you going again?" Jared had bent over me while he said that and looked at me. Unsure, I looked to the side, against the backrest of the sofa. An admittedly very soft and cuddly-looking backrest Look at us, as long as they're not alpha or older members of the pack, pretty much everyone here doesn't care. Sometimes it's a bit silly too."
Did I just hear that right? A werewolf found the rules of his own kind silly and even wanted me to explicitly go against those instructions? That sounded a bit strange to my ears and somehow I didn't really believe it either. But, despite my skepticism, I actually dared and squinted a little to the side. Somehow I expected it to be just a bad joke, but really no one seemed to mind.
I looked further to the side in surprise. "It's okay," said one of the other werewolves. "She doesn't look so pale anymore," said another. As I now noticed, there were four other werewolves here besides Jared. And everyone stared at me more or less strangely...
