"My companion Mason in particular doesn't think much of people. Even if he loves me more than anything and would never admit it to me, he despises my background.
His father, whom I fortunately didn't have to get to know anymore, put hatred into his head like a dogma. He also tried it with me, but failed.
You know, Lily, we have a few little things in common.
We both witnessed a werewolf kill a loved one.
Shortly after Mason found me, my father who was looking for me, illegally leaving our village, was killed.
You have to know that unlike Bea, for example, I didn't have a normal life before Mason found me. She even thought it was a fairy tale before. I, like some other people at that time, lived in tiny villages that were cut off from the rest of the world and also had no contact with each other.
Nobody could escape from the villages and every hiker, for example, who happened to find us either had to live here or was killed.
A zero tolerance policy applied. Anyone who trespassed in the forest was murdered by the werewolves.
My father did it anyway, since he knew my previously negative opinion of the werewolves and was worried. He paid for it with his death. Mason would have preferred not to let me know, but I was present at the murder, my father bled to death in my arms."
The Luna tore her hair and I had to swallow.
So apparently werewolves have always had a problem with humans Well
, as long as they weren't her mates...
When I promised to meet my sister, would Tyler be as condescending as I've seen werewolves behave
and the much better question: how would I behave then?
I couldn't tolerate such behavior with the best will in the world, so what should I do then?
I was his mate, but still human and they couldn't stop a werewolf.
There was a knock at the door. This was opened a crack and a: ,,Luna? May I disturb you for a moment?" "
Come in!" the Luna called and the door opened wider.
"Luke, how can I help you?" the Luna asked in a neutral voice.
It was in fact obviously Luke, since Jared would probably never walk around the house in a white doctor's coat.
"The Alpha ordered that Lily today still to be examined.", he said in a calm voice.
"Aren't you really busy today?" Luna asked skeptically.
"Um, yes Luna," he said and added: "But Alpha wanted the results today." "
Do you have any other patients just waiting?",
"Yes Luna.", he answered briefly.
"Then take care of her first and only do the examination when you have time. And I don't care if it's today, tomorrow or next week!", ordered the woman sitting across from me, stern.
"B-But the alpha?" Luke wanted to know, but the Luna only replied: "I'll take care of that and now go to your patients. Lily's examinations aren't running away."
Luke just nodded in understanding and quietly closed the door again.
I turned back to the Luna.
She closed her eyes for a moment and took a deep breath, then stood up.
"Come on Lily, let's pay Mr. Alpha a visit and remind him not to take a species away from the patients who need him right now! Especially not for a check-up.", she said to me and made her way to the door with her head held high.
I was confused for a moment, but then got up quickly and followed her out.
I honestly expected the Luna to rush into the office next to hers, it was the Alpha's office after all, but she headed straight for the stairs.
However, she seemed to know exactly where the Alpha was and I had some trouble following her. Especially on the stairs themselves she had a pace that I really couldn't keep up with.
But she had probably noticed that I wasn't following and was waiting for me downstairs. However, as soon as I reached her, she quickly set off again.
All werewolves we encountered jumped out of our way, made room and whoever wasn't fast enough got an angry, but short, growl from the Luna.
We left the pack house straight away and walked straight towards the forest that surrounded the house at some distance.
Shortly before we reached the tree line, however, she stopped abruptly.
I looked at her confused, but she seemed focused on something else.
,,MASON! MOVE YOUR ASS HERE, PLEASE!", the Luna roared into the forest without warning, at an unbelievable volume.
I would have liked to cover my ears, but I hadn't been quick enough and now had a ringing in my ears ears.
When nothing happened after a few seconds, the Luna started a terrifying growl. It was so deep and threatening that with the best will in the world I wouldn't have believed her capable of it and I took a few steps further away from her to be on the safe side.
I was aware that the growl wasn't aimed at me, but I didn't want to get in the way of this werewolf with the best will in the world.
It also only lasted a few seconds until 3 werewolves in their wolf form stood in front of us.
I was able to identify one of them as Tyler based on the coat color and appearance. Anyway, I thought it was Tyler.
My suspicion was also strengthened by the fact that after a short, uninterpretable look at Luna, this wolf came to me and nudged me.
Actually, that would have distracted me, but the luna's growl was captivating my mind too much.
The scene that was playing out in front of my eyes was also special. Kind of unrealistic.
In front of the Luna, who was still growling like a monster from hell, was an absolutely black werewolf, but marked by severe scars, who was even a good half a head taller than Tyler and I actually thought he was huge.
There was no question, even for me, that there was no one else standing in front of the Luna but the Alpha and his whole posture already showed that he wasn't very enthusiastic about being growled at by his mate.
"What are you thinking about stopping the only doctor the human-born see with such a trifle as an examination that can be postponed, when he's actually fully scheduled anyway?!" the Luna snapped at him between growls. The werewolf liked it probably either what she said and/or the way she said it didn't, because he started baring his teeth.I
observed the situation spellbound.
"Don't be ridiculous Mason! We both know you're just putting on a show here and you also know I'm right. Just like we both know that all your threatening and snarling means nothing. After all, we are companions! And you know so much better than I do that you can never hurt your mate out of anger, the bond between us is just too strong for that. And let me tell you: I'm glad you're about to lose your post here! Maybe then you'll start acting like a real companion and stop treating me like that all the time!"
After these words, the Luna transformed into a wolf in front of our eyes, snapped once menacingly at the Alpha and ran with her head held high towards the forest.
All that's left is the Alpha, the other wolf, Tyler, myself, and a few scraps of fabric that came from the Luna's clothes.
