I seethed internally as the words left his mouth. I quickly stormed into the room and growled at this perv.
"I'll kill you for it. Do you do this to every employee?" I asked angrily, standing in front of Ava protectively. He couldn't look at her anymore or I would really lose my composure. What surprised me a lot was that Ava clung to me. Happily relaxed me a little.
"Mr. Black. I don't know what you're talking about. I had a normal conversation with Miss Mason. Besides, I don't see what that should be any of your business. She's my employee, not yours."
"Ava?" I said softly so only she could hear me.
"Y...Yes?" Her voice trembled and her heart pounded in her throat.
"Go outside. Wait for me, I'll be right there with you."
"Kian, what are you up to? Stop it, please. I don't want you to get in trouble." I heard concern in her voice.
"Ava, go now!" I said seriously. I could barely contain myself. It surprised me that I hadn't attacked him before.
"I'm leaving, but if you use violence today, I won't speak to you again!"
She left the room, leaving me sighing. What should I do now? I knew Ava wouldn't talk to me anymore. But his words from earlier still echoed in my head.
" I'm going to fire you, I don't need someone like you here. I'll make sure you'll never get a job in this industry again. Of course I'm happy to give you another chance. You must make amends for your mistake. All you have to do is get on your knees when I ask you to. Nobody should know about it, not even my wife."
I just had to kill him for it. My anger grew with every second.
"Mr Black. Why are you here?" he asked.
I approached him menacingly and said: “Tomorrow you will get the contract. But not to become a business partner, no, you will leave this company. I'll take care of everything."
"And why the hell would I do this?" he asked angrily.
"Because it would be stupid to refuse. If you don't take it, I'll see your company go bankrupt. You won't have any more of it."
He knew I wasn't kidding. So he gave in and nodded angrily. I left the room before I changed my mind. He would still get his punishment, after all Ava said that I couldn't hurt him today. Another day was never mentioned.
My problem was that I absolutely had to turn into a wolf. It had been days since I last let my animal side out. My anger made my condition worse and I won't be able to control myself for a long time.
I met Ava outside who was really waiting for me. She spotted me and said, "You didn't do anything to him?"
I shook my head and unlocked the doors of my car. "Sit down!"
"I prefer to run."
"Ava! I'm really irritated right now. Please do what I tell you today. I can hardly control myself and if you keep teasing me I'll run back into the building and kill that bastard."
Her eyes widened and she got into the car anxiously. I ran my fingers through my hair. Damn, I really needed to transform soon. I don't want to take my anger and aggressiveness out on her.
...
We had only been driving for a few minutes when Ava suddenly put her hand on mine. She was clutching the steering wheel so that her knuckles were already white. Her touch relaxed me a little and I glanced at her.
"Look down the road!" she admonished me. I listened to her, but took my hand off the wheel. I held her delicate hand tightly, grateful that she allowed me to do so.
"Please calm down, you're scaring me." She said worried.
"You mustn't be afraid of me. I'm just a little irritable. That's all. But being close to you makes me feel better."
"Kian, you're an idiot. Besides, I can't stay with you. First because I don't want to. After all, I don't want any contact with you at all. Second, Riley is waiting for me."
When I heard the name from her mouth, my whole body tensed. Ava seemed to notice this as she stroked the back of my hand soothingly.
"Don't you ever dare mention that name in my presence again."
She snorted and said annoyed, "Then drive me home or drop me off somewhere else."
"No, I want to stay with you. Accept it."
I helped Ava out of the car while she gave me a death glare.
"I can get out on my own. What are we doing here?" she asked when we were in an abandoned park at that time.
"I want to spend time with you." And stay away from Riley.
"Kian..."
"Wait, Ava. Don't think about the past today. Let me enjoy the night with you."
She looked at me desperately and then nodded.
"According to me."
...
The hours passed and the sun was already beginning to rise. I enjoyed the togetherness with Ava. If it weren't for that Riley who kept calling her all the time. At some point I was fed up with it and out of anger I threw Ava's cell phone into the stream. Of course she was angry with me, but nobody could resist my charm.
"Stop staring at me like that!" she said.
"How am I staring?"
"Like I'm something to eat."
"You look delicious too, little one."
She rolled her eyes, which made me chuckle.
"I have to go. After all, I have to go to work soon."
She got up from my jacket, which I had put on the grass at the beginning. I did the same and had to smile.
Then I walked towards her and put my hands on her waist to pull her closer to me. She didn't resist, but her cheeks turned pink.
"You in my arms. It can always be like this between us, love."
As the last word left my lips, she suddenly got angry and pushed me away again.
"Did I say something wrong?" I asked desperately.
"That's what you used to call me. It all comes back up. Everything I had repressed today. I can't do this I'm sorry."
I bowed my head sadly and said, "I'll take you home. Then I'll leave you alone." For a while, until she realized she missed me.
She just nodded and went ahead. I grabbed my clothes and silently followed her. Why did everything have to be so damn complicated? Especially when everything is going perfectly.

Two weeks had passed since I hadn't seen Ava. I realized now that it wasn't our mate binding that attracted me. But my feelings towards her. I fell in love with her and I wanted to run to her right now and take her in my arms. Now that Noah was spending his time with Rose, I was pretty busy. It was good because I got a little distraction.
Ava still worked at the company, but little did she know that it was mine now. I also ordered someone to keep an eye on them. You never know who will hit on her next.
After I finished my work for the day, I packed up my things and left the building – as always – as the last one. I got in my car and drove off. Each time I thought about paying her a visit. But I had promised to leave her alone. I wasn't going to be able to take it anymore anyway, but I had a good reason to stay away from her for a while. It was about the vampires. I wanted to eliminate this problem before seeking proximity to Ava. A vampire would smell whoever we were in contact with. I didn't want to put her in danger.
