Complications

We were working endlessly till evening. I had to comment on her on the hard work she puts in every time. Sadly, she is still single despite her amazing quality. She believes herself as the only lesbian in our tribe but I knew it wasn't true how could that be? Maybe someone was hiding that here. But we were free people. I only wished her the best. Apart from Seb none of my mates has any partner. I knew the blame lies with me. I thought marrying Annabeth would free my people if the moon Goddess was indeed angry at me for being single but it sounds so silly. I never prayed to the moon goddess but if my tribe wants to pray I would fucking pray.

So far no amount of prayers was saving them even mine. I wonder if the moon Goddess expects me to pray to her for the mate she bestowed upon me. My mate sounds more like a curse than a blessing. "My parents are forcing me to get married to a guy whose mate died recently", she told me. " I was surprised she is being forced in this manner since I believe my tribe to be an emancipated one. Unfortunately, parents have no limits believing they want what's best for them when it's not their choice. "I would talk with them", I assured her. " No need for Alpha, they are worried that I will die alone.", she said sadly.

"Any updates on the suspect lists ", I asked her as a distraction. " So far none. Your gang were practising there is CCTV evidence of that. The rest were on prayers and various activities which unfortunately have no evidence since we haven't got that many cameras around here. From what Angela told me I have narrowed suspects to women. Though Annabeth wasn't exactly likeable she had no enemies, so there goes that", she sighed dejectedly. "That's ok keep on looking. If nothing crops up I have to carry out my mate's punishment as indented", I told her.

She nodded her head in response, not entirely happy, nor was I. She again went back to work and answered the phone. I was browsing over things trying to find the killer if there was one. I think there is a connection between the infiltrator who tried to kill me and Annabeth.  Even though there was a chance that my mate could be Annabeth's killer there was no way she was the infiltration because of the simple fact she is not from my tribe and she saved my life which she wouldn't have done if she worked with them. Since it was all too much confusion I decided to take a break.  Maybe a spar would do me good.

I went to the training field to find everyone training except Li who was managing some security crisis. I decided to take on Tony today who was confident this time. I started removing my clothes not wanting to tear them down after the shift.

I always let the other person do the first attack because of my advantage over the opponent. He came at me with breakneck speed and I moved away with a dash. He came back and this time I also moved away. The third go when he came at me I took him head-on. He tried to bite me, sly bugger, we never do that because then it would be just like a fight between rabid dogs. We consider ourselves too superior. But it seems we are not, so I let him get away from me. He was now feeling overconfident so he came at me again. I could see him laughing in my mind saying getting a bit rusty are we, holed up inside the office so that you.

I have let this go far so I decided to end this quickly with a quick twist of my mouth I caught his neck with my teeth. He tried to get away but I didn't let him. I have now overpowered him completely. He whimpered in defeat. Everyone who was watching cheered for me. I shifted back and stood up waiting for Tony to join me. But he was still lying there as though helpless. I kicked him and he let out a soft cry again. " Drama Queen ", I said, bemused by his antics. He quickly shifted back to his human form.

" Alpha, that was some serious moves. I'm in awe of you", she said. I nodded my head in acknowledgement. "See you gave me a love bite", Tony said, showing me the big wound on his neck. It was looking ugly on a human; it may even cause his death but on the wolf, it wasn't something to worry about. " You tried to bite me first. Ugh, that came out wrong. You started it", I declared. "He will live", said Li looking at the mark which was already healing. "If he wanted then your head would be bitten off by him", said Seb. "Let's not exaggerate", I cut him off. I was about to put my clothes back when security came running and told me," Alpha secretary wants to meet you. Something important came up. You have to go right now", he said slightly panting.

"Are you sure she is a lesbian?  Why does she keep asking for you to meet her? Isn't that the other way around? Shouldn't she be at your beck and call?"Tony asked. I sensed that something was up or she wouldn't have sent somebody after me when I'm practising. She knows better than that. " I have to carry on with your practice", I said. "Now I doubt the relationship between you guys", said Tony again. " She's my employee Tony not a fucking toy for you to joke around with stuff like that", I rebuked him. He apologetically looked down. I sighed and walked towards my office speedily.

When I reached my office she was pacing. I noticed that she does it when she is stressed. "What's it?", I asked her. " There is a problem Alpha. It's Mike. He said that lately, he had come to know that Angel had not returned yet. So he wants to know why she was here since you promised to take her back just as the wedding is over", she said.

"I have told him that he should not worry about her. She was my responsibility", I told her, feeling annoyed. " She is a human and we can't keep her here for long", she said soothingly. "I don't want to make a decision this time, call the guys. We will decide it in a group meeting", I told her quietly. She nodded her head and I sat on the chair feeling tense. I thought I didn't have to worry much since she was on guard but I was wrong. She will escape again and we can't do anything about it.

I greeted everyone and Lana briefed them about our agenda today. Everyone was disengaged because no one cared about humans. According to them, they weren't an enemy, since they didn't have superior strength to match ours. But they were wrong; humans were only physically inferior but they were smarter. I didn't want them to be my enemy since I was raised in the human world. I have loved it even with its flaws.

" From whatever little I understood Angela should be returned since there wasn't any proof against her", said Tony. But the rest of them objected. "You can say the truth to Mike, we can say it's for our safety", said Liam. I shook my head at this. Mike and Angela had a nice relationship. He liked her genuinely. I don't think he would take kindly to the fact that she was arrested.

" Kill her right away then no need to worry", said Seb lightly. My heart plunged at his suggestion but thankfully, no one supported him in this. I felt relieved to see this and I ignored that request too. "I have an idea though I don't know if it will work", said Lana.

" What's it"?, I asked her. She always has the best answers to my problems. Maybe she could help after all.  I also should give her a raise.

"My suggestion is that you lie to Mike that you want to marry Angela now. He would back off then", said she brightly. Suddenly Seb pulled away from his chair and said " I don't wish to participate in the wedding plans, can I go"? he asked. It was a bit rude to talk to your Alpha line but that was my mate so I let him go.

"I think yours is a marvellous idea", I told her she was very smart for a secretary but it would only offend her since she could find it sexist and classist. She smiled confidently at me. The others supported it too and we agreed that we could extend her stay here with the help of this lie. I asked her to inform Mike of this good news and she went away.

We were chatting away for some time when she arrived and said," Mike wants to say congratulations on your wedding. He wants to attend the wedding and bless the couples. I sank to my seat. I hadn't expected this to happen. Mike wasn't the one to get fooled and he was determined to find who was making him one
