Interruption

"I don't care about your pack or you. I'm only here because I have no choice. I have gone through the wedding as you asked. Now tell me when will you let me go", she said. " I don't know," I stalled. I knew this conversation was long due. I'm not sure I should send her now when Julio is posing a threat. He already has a connection with Mike and even knows her friend it's a tough situation especially where we stand.

"If you go back from your word I have no choice but to tell Mike on you", she threatened me. " If you want to get out of here you better listen to what I say carefully", I said. Her eyes looked at me menacingly. They held fire, promise and arousal. I was swimming in their depths.

I heard a knock on the door which was surprising normally they would have locked us together to get us going with baby-making. The interruption was not a wise strategy.

"What's it?", I asked impatiently. There was something wrong. "We need to speak to you soon", said Liam and Tony. I looked at my mate who was lying on the bed turning away from me. She was relieved that I was going to leave. This attraction between us was not one dimensional. I wanted to ask her permission first but then decided against it. She might think of herself as important if I asked. But the truth was that she was important to me. More than I would ever admit to myself.

We sped to the office because my mate is not the most trustworthy person. Lana was waiting for us who I doubt rarely slept these days.

" What's it, guys? I hope it's important enough to interrupt my first night", I said. There was a brief pause and Lana added, "It is". I sighed it was going to be a long night.

" I got a call from Eastern and Southern tribe joined. It seems they have been in some truce these days. They wanted to raise their concern about Julio. They didn't want to negotiate with the bloodsucker", said Lana.

"It's understandable but we can not break the treaty with humans and Julio is under their protection", I said thoughtfully.

" Well, Manny and Nathan believe that the bloodsucker is up to something. They are thinking of breaking the treaty with humans and they want us in. I have already talked to the generals", said Liam.

"Breaking the treaty is not that easy especially now when Julio is working so closely with humans. I'm sure Mike can talk them out of it. Even if they want to break the treaty it is not our concern. Yes, we do have our apprehension about Julio but humans are our long time allies", I said carefully.

" I don't trust Manny and Nathan remember last time your mate was Nathan's sister. He has sworn that he will kill you for murdering her", said Seb.

"I haven't killed her and she can vouch to the fact she remembers some snippet of her previous lives", I told no one.

" I'm not sure Nathan cares for that anymore after all she is born again and this time as a human. May history not repeat itself", said Tony.

I cast him a furious look. Talking about my mate's death is twisting my heart. I don't know how to deal with her death even after having them repeated over and over again.

"What's the catch?", I asked remembering our conversation suddenly. It was about the tribes not about my mate.

" Well they want your alliance they may raise the topic soon. So they wanted to know who we are going to side with. Is it them or humans", said Lana.

"It's not like picking your favourite football team. We need time and we support them entirely in the case of Julio but breaking the treaty is not the way", I told finally.

" They are going to do it soon I guess. If we don't side with them it will be automatically assumed that we are with them. So our treaties will be broken as well", said Liam.

"They are the ones going on a rampage of breaking the treaties and we have got nothing to do with. If they attack us we will retaliate. If they want to attack humans we won't have any part in it", I told them all.

" So should I inform them of your decision", said Lana. "You may", I said. " I support you Alpha it's wise you chose humans over those traitors", said Sebastian.

"It's not like that Seb. I can feel that a change is coming towards us and it is coming fast. We are swept in it. We can hardly see what's in front of us", I said. I will always value my wolf brothers over bloodsuckers any day. It's just that I couldn't betray Mike he is a good person.

" Anything else", I asked them in general.

"Well, we wanted to rescue you from spending the night with her. We will always watch your back for you alpha", said Seb seriously.

" Stop wounding my ego, Seb. I can save myself from the attack of a human. She has helped me with maintaining the truce with humans. If she comes out in front of Mike we will be at war right now", I told Seb.

"I guess we are sorry Alpha", said Seb. I smiled reassuring them. They were my brothers they have no bad intentions only good ones. But I was missing her madly. I nearly snapped at Seb for talking ill about her.

I knew this path I was taking. It was familiar and leads us all down the drain. I knew I should be thankful for them. If they haven't interrupted it could go as something remotely, like a first night.

I may even do something bad like pouring my heart out for her. If spending a few hours with her was this dangerous I wonder how I will fair moon cycle. The treacherous period where I will succumb to her. It is now only two months away.
