The parents of Mia are autocratic and discriminatory towards the LGBTQ+ community. Upon discovering her relationship with a woman, they arranged for her to be betrothed to Ethan, the youngest son of the Mendoza family. Despite this, Mia continued her relationship with her long-time girlfriend, Yunnie, in secret.
